Used one today BUT the employee asked if it was photocopied and I said "no, it was in an email". She said people were copying these when they weren't supposed to, but she gave me the $5.00 off anyway.

I used one this morning, but not on Joes since they were wiped out... Target needs a better Point of Sale system so they don't get all of these problems. There is clearly a "T" printed on the reciept for Toy purchases, so the system should be able to check if there's $25 worth of "T" merchandise. Oh well, since they don't want to spend the extra $$ to upgrade their machine they they pay for it this way.

Since this coupon is computer generated, anyone can illegally alter the coupon to read whatever they choose. I hope I run into that guy again while in line. BUSTING him would be an understatement! I'm talking yelling over the PA system, calling the GM over to the cashier, snapping pictures with my iPhone, obviously writing down his license plate, etc. That coupon is meant for the purchase of G.I. Joes...I mean toys. When people exploit the coupon they ruin it for everyone. Unfortunately, nobody cares? People don't have integrity anymore! Instead of meditating on how one could increase their earning capacity they'd rather take short cuts and shred their morals in the process. Sad to think some of these individuals are parents that teaches their kids to work hard, tell the truth; 'do as I say and not as I do.' |

I'm sorry to dump, but I hate when threads like this generate a stir over nothing. Coupon says for toy purchase 25 dollars or more. Period. End of Story. You F&^* with my coupon I call the better business bureau for false advertisement. They expire in October and that is when YOU WILL EXCEPT them until or else suffer the consequences and endure a class action lawsuit. I don't give a rats ass what other jerk offs do that's unscrupulous I do what the coupon says and I will get treated as such.

Well, technically, any coupon that was not printed straight off the Target site is a copy and they can, if they want to, refuse to ACCEPT it... but they have to prove that which is pretty hard to do. But I'd guess that 99.98127% of the coupons being used right now came from someone who saved a pic of the actual online coupon (which is now a copy) - but don't tell Target that, on second thought, I would think that they know that already. They made a mistake of putting the expiration for 10/1/08. They figured once they took it off the site no one could get them anymore and didn't count on someone saving a copy and distributing them. Rest assured, they won't be offering any more of these coupons anytime soon, well, at least not the ones that doesn't expire until several months after. They probably could refuse the coupons but will piss off a lot of customers so they'll more than likely take the loss and honor them until they expire.
BTW, when did this coupon first pop up anyway? I first used them back in March. anyone used them earlier? Last edited by annihilator; 07-02-2008 at 03:39 AM.. |

Well one store up here in North Carolina had the memo sheet and refused one of the coupons. I didn't really care. It was one that someone had saved and I used a bunch back when the Indy figures hit so I feel I got my use out of them. It's a shame Target stopped getting good supplies of Joes in just before the coupon came out

I found a store here in Virginia that has the signs up by all the registers. This target is the worst about getting joe product. Employees that tell me they cant get the vehicles out of the back because corporate is recalling them only to see them a week later on clearance. The whole store makes me irate and the new signs convinced me to not go back.

I found half of wave 9 today and decided to buy an extra IJ Russian Soldier to get over the $25.00 mark. I go to check out in the garden center and the cashier scans the coupon and tells me it has expired. I told him it doesn't expire until 10/08. He calls the manager over the phone and then hangs up and tells me the coupon is a fake. I told him I wanted to speak to the manager. So he calls again and I wait for the manager. The manager told me that as of today these coupons are no longer valid due to fraudulent activity. He said some ridiculous thing about people making it counterfit by whiting out Toy and the toy icon. He informed me that as a result of this fraudulent activity Target has canceled the barcode at every location and will mail a $5.00 giftcard to the people who received the coupon by email. I asked if I would be getting one and he said no.
I was kind of pissed, but happy to get Bazooka, Hawk, and a Bat. I put back the extra Russian soldier. |
