Maybe this is one reason they started this rule....if you really cussed at me like you did that stockboy I would have you banned......anyone...any GUEST that comes in to my restaurant and talks like that to one of my employees will get banned...period!!!!!
Try and be nicer next time...........and nothing but love fellow Joe Collector..... SpaceMonkey, let me elaborate some for you...I have always been kind and pleasant, and practically never bother any employees, since I find what I want at my local Wal-Mart...I didn't cuss the stockboy, I cussed the Manager who came over and fed me a line of BS, because he was too lazy instead of performing customer service...It's not like the pegs were filled to the brim anyway, they were bare.. As far as kicking people out of your restaurant, I agree for someone who is being disruptive, but I wasn't. I wasn't yelling, and the three of us were the only ones in the aisle during the discussion..Kick people out, yes, but you lose customers..Customers should get priority if their in the right..If the guy is being a jerk, then worker is in the right..That wasn't the case here.. I like you SpaceMonkey and we have had some nice conversations in the past, but please don't think I'm a nasty villain for doing this..I am not a nerd, a middle aged man with CPU numbers, harrassing store employees...I asked one time at Target, was fed a line of BS and I let the manager know he was lying, and I knew it..And that he had a job to perform and as a paying customer I had every right to expect him to perform that duty.. You agree? To what?
To what SpaceMonkey said? About me being a D#*^ to people trying to do their job? That's the whole point crazyfellow! The Manager came out, the pegs were empty and he DIDN'T WANT TO DO HIS JOB? Why? I dunno..I suppose you could ask him, but he would probably lie to you too.. Busy? Lazy? His job is customer service..His job is keeping the shelves stocked..His job is not to feed a line of BS to customers, simply because he does not want to do his job or have someone else do their job, instead of doing what he is paid for..In the business of public service to his customers... And SpaceMonkey, nothing but love for you too man, but I doubt THIS was the reason this policy was implemented NATIONWIDE for Target... Saboteur |

Who said anything about costing someone a job?
And the complaint was about the MANAGER to came out try to BS me..I guess I didn't make that clear enough in my post, sorry... And somehow, I doubt good ole' Dan was fired... I don't go looking to get someone fired crazyfellow, but I do expect them to treat me as a customer, with politeness and not give me a line of BS, hoping I believe them and don't know any better, simply because they are too busy or too lazy to peform customer service..Hell, there weren't even any joes on the pegs as it were... You know some of this reminds me of a local comic convention I went to a few weeks ago. This middle-aged guy was picking through the comic boxes and had some of his comics on some other boxes I wanted to check out. I asked the guy politely if I can move his comics to the side so I could check that section of boxes.
He goes from zero to 60 in one heartbeat and yells out, "I am not going to move my comics for everyone that wants to look at these boxes. You just wait your turn!!" I politely remind him that the curteous thing to do is to allow everyone a chance to examine the merchandise. And, this wasn't his personal collection to barred me from looking. He responds that the curteous thing is for me to wait until he's finished. I look at my 5-year old, who is getting nervous, and remind myself that I have to remain the adult here and not knock the guy on his ass. I tell him that he can either move it to one side or I can move it for him but that he won't like where I place them. Anyway, the punchline of the story is my friend's comment when I tell her later what happened. She responds, "So he was a middle-aged guy full of anger?" I say, "Yup." She blurts out, "I am impotent with rage!!!" So . . . yeah. Whether it's comics or toys, it's just comics or toys, nothing worth getting bent out of shape over.

Man I know how you feel, the only way to get them from being azzholes to you are to call the store and ask if they have any. Where I am from I would call TARGET first ask them which figures are available on pegs; if they have the one I need I just ask them nicely to hold it for me only and only if I am in the area that particular day. So the only people you put up with is customer service and they rarely say anything unlike the stockers and MOD's Managers on Duty who just complain and complain.

This is what I know:
last year during the ROTS fiasco our Target put up a sign that says something like " due to the collectible nature of toys, target employees will not assist you by bringing items from the back or helping you find specific items" Thats not verbatim, but its basically what it says. So basically, you could ask them if they have something that is right in front of you and they could in turn say, "I don't know" and they would be int he right. While it does suck on one level because you just KNOW they have 6 cases of the toy you want in the back, its also keeping the scalper idiots at bay...leveling the playing field. |
