Figures, the first few weeks I begin to have an interest in G.I. Joes and there's a drought.
*sigh* Maybe I should try that ship in a bottle thing. |

What a sight for sore eyes...
I would have totally pre-ordered wave 2 however, I am goin on vacation for two weeks here soon and didn't want my stuff arriving then, cuz I have no one that could get....blah blah blah. Anyway, needless to say from now on I am pre-ordering from BBTS and just being done with it.

the picture was taken last July, when wave 1 was release on retail. Target priced it first for $7.99, then lowered it to $5.99. something that Target previously did, with their leader class Transformers, lowering the prices.
i don't go to Wal-mart, the stores here in my side is filthy, and crowded, and filthy, and crowded. that's why i prefer TRU & Target. I got hit by a shopping cart once coz some old lady was hogging the walk-way and was looking at the other direction without even looking...oh boy... Wal-mart horror stories.

I'm going to try to bring a little clarity here.
As many of you know, retail chains tend to have several different size classifications for their stores. This used to be easy to decipher, but lately every single Wal-Mart I come in contact with says "Supercenter" on the front regardless of it's actual classification within the corporation. Most Wal-Mart stores seem to have stopped placing 25th G.I. Joe on the shelves at all. Right now the larger stores generally have about a case or two of the five-packs at any given time, but due to the demand, the single-carded figures have dwindled to nothing. Likely, if you find them you will see the overpacked Snake Eyes and Storm Shadows or perhaps a hooded CC. In the smaller stores (at least in Florida) you are likely to find nothing at all. Considering that it is mid-September, the likely cause of this is that Wal-Mart is about to undergo their 4th quarter reset. That is, they are about to rearrange the toy aisles for the holiday season. In smaller stores, all I have found is Lanard figures and an overabundance of Adventure Team guys. Even the Sigma 6 figures have gone to clearance (whether they needed it or not). In the larger stores, the new product is the red or green sigmas and an incidental 5-pack. The worst part of this is that regardless of scheduling, Wal-Marts are notoriously unreliable in regards to getting their resets done in a timely fashion. As for Target and TRU, its simply a matter of keeping up with demand. I know for a fact that most of the single-carded figures in my local TRU (Sanford Florida, Seminole Town Center, Hasbro take note) do not make it to the shelves because one of the jokers in receiving snatches ALL of the Cobra officers or chase figures as soon as they're opened. Targets locally have put up the compulsory "In order to assure that all of our customers get an equal chance to buy etc, etc... we reserve the right to limit the purchase of certain collectable items" on the Joe pegs. I wish there was an easy answer, but the simple fact is that you can't trust any shipping or reset schedule. You just have to hit the stores every day until you find them. It's likely that single carded figures from wave 1 might not even ship again to Wal-Marts, and that we won't see anymore until wave 2. That, and we might not see them until October. Keep in mind that WE are the ones being targetted now. As soon as the line is in full swing, Hasbro Toy Shop will start offering them directly (so long as it doesn't damage relations with retailers). Hpefully they will produce Army builders in proper proportions so that we don't have a repeat of the DTC Soldier selling out constantly and ruining orders on case assortments. I'd like to ask everyone to play nice, but we all know how hard-scrabble to search for good figures is. Lack of production takes the fun out of the hobby. In three months and over 6 states, I've managed to get a hold of 9 Cobra Officers. I'd feel guilty if I found them all at my local stores, but I've obviously had to work for them. I'd be perfectly happy with a super-valuable rare black-timber Snake-Eyes being the hard one to find if I could find the copious amounts of Officers (and hopefully soldiers and Crimson Guardsmen) that I intend to buy.As it is, I've passed on three black-timbers in favor of Officers and will continue to do so. Here's hoping the Cobra troops become as common as Clone/Storm Troopers. I don't army build to show off or speculate. I buy them to collect and build dios. Good luck to ALL of us.
