I agree ^^^ I've seen buyers on eBay lose it on the seller cause they thought MOC means MOMC so that needs to be understood before we go into AFA worthy items...yes yes ?

AFA is strange i sometimes think it depends on the individual grading the piece...i have an AFA 85 croc master and an AFA 85 storm shadow and when you put them next to each other there is no comparison as to which one is the better card ...by a long shot

Ok now I have a question about the year of the figures for AFA grading.
I am getting ready to send in a sealed case of Wave 5 and I am confused by the years listed on the AFA population report. I know Shipwreck (wave 3) and hooded Cobra Commander (wave 4) were re-cased in Wave 5 but the other figures were Wave 5 "originals" I thought 2007 saw Waves 1-4 and 2008 started with Wave 5 .. if this is correct, how much nearly everybody who is turning in Snow Jobs, IG Destro, Crimson Guard, etc are listing them as 2007 for the year if they were released in 2008. I want to make sure I have the right years for the figures (and the right ones in the case since it is sealed). Here is who SHOULD be in the case: Shipwreck (2007, Wave 3) Hooded Cobra Commander (2007, Wave 4) Crimson Guard (2008, Wave 5) x 2 Iron Grenadier Destro (2008, Wave 5) Sgt. Flash (2008, Wave 5) Snow Job (2008, Wave 5) Snake Eyes (2008, Wave 5) Can anybody help to why the figures released originally in Wave 5 are listed as "2007" for their year?

I wouldn't worry too much about the year. They know which year came out so they can correct yours if not. Gosh, there's so much stuff out there. Just put in the year you think is right and it will take care of itself.

If your going to send anything to AFA, I would look it over a few times. If there are any flaws to the card, blister, or figure....they will find it. I would only send the best overall condition to have it graded, but that's just me. Some people have money to burn and will send things in C7 condition. You are more or less paying for the acrylic cases, shipping to them, and shipping back which is more (lowest tier). The grading part is probably the least expensive.

I don't know if I trust myself enough to send a store or internet bought figure to AFA for grading considering all the handling it will have gone through prior to them receiving it.

If you want to go by Hasbro's official assortments, then it should be as follows:
Shipwreck (2007, Wave 3) Hooded Cobra Commander (2007, Wave 1) Crimson Guard (2008, Wave 1) x2 IG Destro (2008, Wave 1) Sgt. Flash (2008, Wave 1) Snow Job (2008, Wave 1) Snake Eyes (2008, Wave 1) Now if you want to call them by their street name, then it should be as follows: Shipwreck (2007, Wave 3) Hooded Cobra Commander (2007, Wave 1) Crimson Guard (2008, Wave 5) x2 IG Destro (2008, Wave 5) Sgt. Flash (2008, Wave 5) Snow Job (2008, Wave 5) Snake Eyes (2008, Wave 5) Its really up to you I guess, Fred I just got my first batch back from them today and all I put on the sticker was the year, series line and figure name.

I have received some nice mint MOMC figures through ebay, retail, and on this forum. Out of the 70 or so MOC 25th figures I have, only one or two would be worthy enough for me to send it in. The unopened case figures will probably receive the best grades...naturally. I have seen "on ebay" U80's and U75's though. I'm not sure if they grade uncirculated pieces harder or not, but I had a U80 Gung Ho with a one inch crease/vein below the J hook out of the case. The rest of the C, B, F was mint +. |

my question is, why dont they give the Doc mail-ins an uncirculated grade? They come straight from Hasbro, they never see a shelve (no circulation), they come in a clamshell with factory tape, I mean what more do they want?
