So I'll be in Pittsburgh later this week for a few days. Any locals know of any good places to hit for 80s toys? Not just Joes, as I collect a bunch of stuff. Any pointers would be appreciated.

Here is some info from an online article:"Eide’s Entertainment is one of the oldest and best comic stores in the U.S.; the three-level shop also sells a wealth of collectible records, books and videos. Endless sidewalk stalls carry remaindered books, Steelers shirts, hand puppets and more. “Everything you buy, you can come home with the story behind it,” says Becky Rodgers, executive director of the nonprofit group Neighbors in the Strip."
I've been there a handful of times, but I have not been there for years so I hope it is open. They have tons of comics and toys they also sell cd's and music related stuff. http://www.eides.com/ Last edited by SNAKE EYES; 06-22-2008 at 10:14 PM.. |

There's about two or three stores in the south side on carson street. That's all I know of.

I used to go to a place called Groovies on the South side like Minstrelboy said on Carson. I haven't been there in a couple of years so I'm not even sure if it's still there but I used to get great deals on stuff when I went.
I haven't been to Eides since it moved to its current location but used to buy a lot of other toys, cds and comics there before I got back into collecting JOES. Unfortunately, with the price of gas, I don't get over that way too often anymore. |
