Zing has listed Wave 1 + PDD Destro. I'm holding out hope. Still waiting on Wave 1, Australian release seems to be late August/September, pushed back from July. It was meant to come in the next couple of days, actually. Really bummed me out, looking forward to them.
Had Wave 1 preordered since April and I want them in hand before I preorder more. I want to see how much I like them before I invest more. I don't buy 6 inch, only 4 and 12, so I picked up a WWE Elite Ronda Rousey. I know it's Mattel, but I liked her figure. It feels good and the additional articulation in the thigh is probably my favorite thing about the size increase. Didn't expect to like that so much. |

I know what you mean. It's a tad worrying for me, that I haven't even got wave 1 yet and they're announcing more and more I'll have buckleys of getting locally. The different Cobra Commanders are an easy pass for me but figures like the Red Ninja and Cobra Trooper are going to be a bitch to buy in multiple. I've also heard rumors on the Fwoosh or something that the Ninjas will be released in tan, black and white at some stage.

I've had wave 1 on pre-order for so long, I don't want to keep pre-ordering and then not liking them when I have them in hand. That and with the Retro figures coming, my heart is with the 4 inch line and I'd rather the 4 just to keep my collection consistent. |

Hey guys, resident Seppo checking in. Wasn't sure where to ask so sorry for the interjection on your thread.
I originally published a book through Kindleworld and definitely would like to get some more research done on opinions for the Bikies of the Joe world. Basically, I would like to get some opinions on general subjects, and if that requires a new thread, then I can surely make one. The purpose is I want to be as consistent as one can to the natural flow of Strine and cockney rhymes, be consistent with how things work in Straya, etc, etc. Also despite my research, I would like more slang terms and avoid very old ones listed on various "strine"/slang sites sites, especially if it's some regional slang specific to the Dreadnoks in question, and avoid complete horrific greviances that would make me look like I haven't done my homework. I'm passionate about my research. And specific to my novels, I want opins on some of my own created lingo for the Dreadnoks as well. Example: Harry Nod was born in Grim Cape (this must be annoying...but it's honestly probably considered running in-joke by now). I basically would want to know if someone basically could be listed as being born in Cape Grim, as research really hasn't found much (I would think Harry would have to have some kind of environmentalist connection or something). Here in the states, it used to be basically if a person is born outside a particular region that's not say on any official "city" line, the birth certificate will reflect the nearest city of which the baby is taken to... So in Harry's case, if say his parents were out in Cape Grim, his mum had him out there as an emergency, would it be the same thing where he might be say recorded born in Smithton? It's little nuances like this that I want to get right. With my book, I gave the Dreadnoks a "precursor" name of the Mulgas. I was floored no MC gang in Straya had this, anyway. So I used it. I was inspired by research into Nike Bikies, when the term was more used separate support gangs that would go on foot and not ride motorcycles. Because the term is now predominatetly used to describe a very specific actual bikie gang that and not a loose term for a support gang, I came up with a solution for the Dreadnoks. I have the Dreadnoks refer to their support gang with the affectionate term of Swooshos. Basically, my premise was the Mulgas would have their Swooshos eventually grow into their own side gang. The alternate names for a Mulga Snake. King Brown, and Pilbara Cobra. Such an easy natural task for when the Mulgas head to the States in Florida, and a news reporter catches this, and poof We have a bunch of Cobras (Swooshos) running around. Anyhow that's just a couple, like I said I can maybe make a separate thread if need be, and I appreciate your time! Last edited by Blacknife; 07-28-2020 at 03:40 AM.. |

Blacknife, to be honest, most Aussies don't sound like you think they would. But we get why you all think we sound a certain way. Just have fun with it and write it how you want it to sound. Use the stereotypes, it's amusing and we can take a joke.

Appreciate that, and not meaning to imply fear of offending but I pretty much write the Dreadnoks more akin to real world MC as I can muster.
I do have an idea to inject their squeaky over the top yes men routine as a callback to RAH at some point. |

Looks like Classified comes out here in October. I've had them preordered since April, keeps getting pushed back from the original June date, but the current date I've got lines up with what Zing has. Popcultcha has them listed for September, I'd assume that's late September.
