Plus there are a lot of us on here collecting for our kids too. My son is 3 and when you ask him whose GI Joes they are his response since I started buying the 25th line is "They gonna be mine."
Have some of you ever heard of disagreeing without being disagreeable? Is it really necessary to call someone a liar? If they are wrong, how about just correcting them.
I think most of us want this to be a "friendly" neighbor community. Otherwise we would just sit on our front porches.

I have done my part. My kids both love Joes and I will continue to support that.

I've thought about this a little. The 1980s were a different time. Things were different. I remember as kids we could play GI Joe on the playground. Nowadays, kids get expelled from school if they play guns or make belief war/combat. I've watched parents turn kids away from the military figures (CORPS, Forces of Valor, etc) because of its reference to violence. I even have a close friend that allows his kids to play superheroes but its blasphemy if their kids play army! In the end, I'm surprised how fast the 25th Joes sell at the Target and Walmart. But wonder if its just old folks like myself reliving the 80s.

I think yes we are the last to have grown up right in the thick of it. While yes a love for joe will go on, we are the last to have lived through the big joe crazy of the 80's :P

the 80's were the best, its time we all cheerished and these kids now a days could never understand. we were the most creative and had the best toys. we were the first to have video games but we still played with are toys. gijoes will carry on forever, but the way we had it will never be the same. i remeber walking in tru and the whole aisle would be stocked from the floor up and thats how it alweys was. kids now are brainwashed by tv and whats new.
just be thankfull that we can understand the time we had back in the day and how great it was!

I experienced something very SAD TODAY, i went to WALMART bucuz sometimes they are putting JOES out during the day, of course NOT TODAY!
Any ways as i was walking by the JOES there was a DAD probably "OUR" age 30-35--with his son who may have been 8-10
and his DAD was like HEY CHECK OUT THESE, this is SNAKEEYES, A COMMANDO AND A NINJA,HE'S A TOTAL BADAZZ, and theres COBRA COMMANDER, THE KID WAS LIKE
what do they do, do they move, they dont light up, the dad was like NO YOU MOVE THEM AROUND AND HAVE BATTLES AND FIGHT EACH OTHER
THE KID WAS LIKE THATS STUPID, I CAN DO THAT ON HALO
I LOVE MY IMAGINATION,I MAKE MY BOYS TURN THE T.V. OFF AND THERE ARE RULES TO THE PLAYSTATION
THEY BOTH HAVE ACTION FIGURES AND LOTS OF BOOKS
IMHO, THEY VIDEO GAMES CONSOLE HAS TAKEN, KID IMAGINATIONS AWAY TO AN EXTENT OR MAYBE JUST THE ABILITY TO RELY ON THEIR IMAGINATIONS,
I LOVE MAKING UP MY OWN BATTLE , STORYLINE, QUICK BATTLE WHATEVER,
NINTENDO(XBOX,PLAYSTATION,Wii,) KILLED THE FUN

No Doc, Video game consoles haven't killed the fun, certain parents have killed the fun. With the current societial and cultural norms so focused on disposable incomes and fads trying to maintain societies attention takes to much energy. Parents give up way to easily instead of taking your route to engage their creativity.
Some parents are too scared to think outside the box that when their own children criticize them, they wet themselves at the sheer thought of comparing themselves to the remote possibilty of being like their parents.
GI Joe has legs that will surpass any of us on this forum. It just depends on the incarnation that hits close to home for it's members. For every RAH fan on here there's the RAH cartoon fan and the RAH comic book fan that covers the 80s to now (hence my tasteless dead joe jokes). It's something to cherish and explain to our kids, our legacy when they ask what did we play with when we grow up, telling them that our toys consisted of good versus evil, every character was unique and had a special talent, and sometimes they had an arch-enemy (Storm Shadow and Spirit/Quick Kick in the cartoon, Arshikage Clan/Firefly/Cobra Commander).
If they're amazed, more power to you, if they think what you played with is stupid, let 'em know that your toys/characters could kick their sorry toys anyday.
Seriously, RAH against anything out there today?

To anyone who thinks kids are "brainwashed" by Television and video games, do you forget the fact you are posting on a website centered around 25 year old toys and TV shows and comic books? How many of you own DVD box sets of old TV shows? How many of you wear Nintendo T-shirts? How many of you collect toys from the 80s?
Now who is brainwashed? You people have been overcome by nostalgia and are becoming grumpy old men.
Big Lobb made millions by getting in on the ground floor of touchtone phone technology.
