we are the only generation able to love our Joes the way we do. I remember getting my 80's joes for x-mas back in the day, and the grown men in my family telling me "back in my day GI.Joe was one guy, and he was big. What are these little ninjas, and stuff" Now I know what they were talking about. Of coarse the were talking about the 12" Joes from the 60's. Now I can appreciate the 12" line from the 60's, but I don't Love them like I do the ones from the 80's. Some Kids in the future will be able to appreciate "our" Joes, but not love them as we did/do. I'm 26, and I love Buddy Holly, but I can't love him like our gradparents did the first they heard him on the radio. |

No, it's not the same. I remember seeing commercials for G.I.Joe figures on TV while I was watching cartoon in the afternoon and on Saturday morning. Has anyone seen a commercial for the 25th line? I think not! this line is not being marketed with the same aggression as the original line. How can a new generation get into it if they don't even know about it? Much less what it stands for.

We are the generation with best decade(80's) and the coolest toys. We didn't have playstation, XBox and the internet. We had He-men, Silverhawks, thundercats, Joes and Transformers. We didn't have those weird card games like pokimon, yugi-oh and digimon. We had baseball cards. And for most of us , we dind't have cable or satelite. So we had our cool cartoons and our cool toys . We loved them then and we love them even more now. Kids now can't appreciate it. Why play with toys when you can play xbox live? I think we will be the last generation to really do this because we love our hobby.

What a depressing thought. But sadly, 'yes', I think we may be the last generation.
There are a lot of children of the 80's here. That decade had so much good stuff (movies, television, cartoons and toys) that it made an indelible impression on us. There's nothing of that scale to profoundly influence kids now, and not enough of those kids will 'inherit' their parents' passion to maintain it into the next generation in anything approaching our numbers.

and people wonder why the pro-G.I. Joe is America crowd instigate such debates because their logic usually not only fails but they seem to either ignore the facts that dispute their position and continue to argue anyways or simply make things up. I hope there really isn't that large of a contingent that would lie to try and make a point, never-the-less a false point. to the topic, I think us 30-somethings are the last harbingers of RAH. the movie will usher in a new audience and focus for the brand, and although I expect RAH to continue for the near future, at some point us 30-somethings are going to move on in our lives, and when that does I think you will cease to see RAH recreations in the same extent as the 25th line. |

well i dont open all of them cus i say to myself that id rather enjoy having it but still letting it keeps its value so that when my kids older maybe it can be worth sumthing and they can go head and sell it they choose
But if its not gonna have any value due to lack of interest in the line by that time why save them in plastic bubble cages ? lol i swear i been looking for an excuse to just open them
