Let's Write the 'G.I. Joe' movie!!

I've been tossing this around for a bit, what with all the news and griping that's been going on, and since Monkeywrench offered to write, I thought that it was high time to 'make it so'.......

So we're going to use this thread for a 'play-by-play' of making a script. First we're going to run down a cast of characters, then we'll find locations to shoot and do the 'blocking' of the scenes.

Now, let's not make it '4 thousand Joes', and let's not make it a 'popularity contest'........let's try picking various Joes and Cobras and really making it work. Each person will be responsible for the character development of 3 Joes and 3 Cobras......I think that's fair, don't you??

And remember, they all have to interact with each other, so no going off on a tangent and writing your own movie..........you can, just not in this thread!!

I would like to see a very spread out war.

like a jungle campaign and snow battle and a inner city battle. Of course they all tie in with each other. This would be a great way to get many of the favorites in the movie. Many many small roles in the movie, then a few major roles.

The major roles should prolly be CC, Destro, Baroness, Storm Shadow and Zartan for Cobra.

Small roles for Cobra would be Major Bludd, Crimson Twins and Firefly with many of the various troopers like vipers, Crimson Gaurd, Dreadnoks etc.

The Major Joes would be Flint, Duke, Scarlett, Snake Eyes and Roadblock.

Other smaller roles would be Shipwreck, Lady Jaye, Gung-Ho, doc, Beach Head etc.

I would like to control Zartan and the Dreadnoks if nobody else minds.

Some Plot ideas to think about:

CC and Destro is trying to get a hold a nuke weapons. They gives orders to various generals to obtain weapons or scientists or whatever across the world. This would lead to small battles across the world with the Joes. Ending in a dramatic balltle at the end with the Major Joes and the Major Cobra roles.

Cobra captures the President. The US government freaks out and need to keep this quiet from the world. They call upon the G.I. Joes to get him back. They are in the dark on where he is being kept. The Joes form 5 teams and attack 5 cobra bases looking for the president. This could easily build 8-10 main Joes and feature many Cobra members and build up some key figures. This would be good to get many favorites and set up sequels. Example: Major Bludd may have a small role in this movie but could be a featured villian in a later movie.
