I just want to share a quick little story. My buddy is currently dating a girl with 4 children. I spent some time with them last weekend. Anyway I get into there van and I hear a crunch. It turns out I stepped on the battle damage SE! I was shocked. I asked my buddy about it. He said "yeah her oldest son is obbessed with GI Joes." I smiled and started asking him 20 questions lol. It turns out the kid is 9. He begs for Joes everyday, he said they can't even take him to walmart or target anymore. His favorite figure is the cloak SS! This kid also has no father and his 3 siblings are women. So he has no male influence at all and he's still into Joes. This made me very excited and reminded me of when I was a kid. Just wanted to share with you guys.

Great story, kids do love 'em. I've got my nephews and the neighbor boys hooked on them.

My kids like them a lot, but they like Spider-Man and Transformers a little more. That's probably because of the cartoons.

If they are toys, you can pretty much bet kids will want them. Whether this line is aimed at collectors or not, when a kid sees something that catches his or her eye, you can bet they are going to buy it and buy more. Honestly, i am surprised that more kids haven't joined the GI Joe bandwagon yet. I guess we will have to wait for the movie to see more kids going crazy for these...

I remember back when wave 4 was out at Walmart and they had a stand with pegs filled with the 25th Joes. I'm talkin about like 100 plus figures on the pegs.
As I was checking out the Joes and deciding which figures to buy, I noticed a little boy about 10 yr old with his mother and asking her if he can get that white ninja. This alone tells me he doesn't even know the character's name, but wanted Storm Shadow of course. I was shocked considering no cartoons or comic books that kids generally see before having a knowledge of G.I. Joe. Still, it was kool just to see children getting into the Joes. Being single and never had any kid(s) of my own, I kinda of wish I have a son so I can share my love and joy of G.I. Joe with him. My folks were not into toys when I was growing up in the 80's. Hopefully, with the success of the movie and possibly cartoons in the works would draw more kids into the Joes. Last edited by Agent-GHQ; 05-24-2008 at 12:20 PM.. |

Both my kids love them, and every time I'm looking I see kids looking at them.

My son is going to be 5 this summer, and he recently discovered "daddy's joes" and hasn't been able to put them down since. I think it's great and i suspect I'll be buying doubles in the future so he can have his own joes.

My oldest son just turned 4 but I intorduced him to G.I. Joe when he was three(he loves the old cartoon). I just recently gave him my terror drome for his joes to live in. He seems to love the old joes I have and the new line that I am buying for him. Any day now daddy is going to show him the big surprise that waits in the attic. THE USS FLAGG. My other son is only going to be one but he already wants to play with big brothers joes. I am loving watching both my sons discover the G.I. Joe universe, it brings back memories. The biggest surprise I see at the local retailers are not so much scalpers or dealers buying joes but kids.

My sons are 12 & 9 and although they aren't in Joe's as much as I am, they do like them. Which is why I buy almost 2 of everyone(one to keep MOC and one to have loose), because I know they'll want to play with them. They only like certain characters, but it's cool to watch them play.
