I guess it just depends on what you want your Joeverse to be like. I believe Larry Hama said once that all Joes were supposed to be Ranger-qualified. Low Light was supposed to be a SEAL sniper originally, but LH made him a Delta Force sniper instead. Stretcher as a PJ makes sense, although I've also used him as a SEAL corpsman. Lifeline could also be a PJ, a 160th SOAR(A) medic, or a SF medic. The possibilities are endless.

At some point I'd like to see some AF guys make the Joe team - Combat Rescue Officer(CRO)/Parerescue (PJ), Special Tactics Officer (STO)/Combat Controller (CCT), Special Operations Weather Team (SOWT), Air Liaison Officer (ALO)/Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC), Combat Aviation Advisors (CAA), some SERE Specialists, and even a Security Forces guy (namely a dog handler).
On the Navy side of the house, a Navy EOD Tech (as they are already the go to guys when it comes to supporting SOF), a SWCC (although they could have left Shipwreck's background alone and had him transition to one of the old Special Boat Units (SBU), and a Tactical Cytological Support (TCS) or Tactical Information Operations (TIO) guy. And possibly a Master-at-Arms (as they've been supporting SEAL operations). And maybe a guy whose spent time in one of the Riverine Squadrons. On the Marine side of things, a Marine Scout Sniper, a Fire Support Specialist (who acts as both a forward observer and JTAC) from either MARSOC or an Air and Naval Gunfire Liaison Company (ANGLICO), a Radio Recon guy, and Critical Skills Operator (CSO) from MARSOC, and while technically a Sailor, a Navy Special Amphibious Recon Corpsman (SARC). And from the Army a SIGINT guy whose from a SOT-A or a unit like ISA. A computer guy could come from ISA or a unit like the Joint Communications Integration Element (JCIE), and support guys could come from units like the Joint Communications Unit (JCU), 112 Special Operations Signal Battalion. The Army now also has a dedicated EOD unit to support Army SOF, the 28th Ordnance Company (EOD) (ABN). And then there are the Chemical Recon Detachments assigned to the various special forces groups, and tactical PSYOP (Now Military Information) teams assigned to the Ranger Regiment and SF groups. And the 75th Ranger Regiment has dedicated recon unit (which works for JSOC) in the Ranger Reconnaissance Company (RRC).

Cool suggestions. I would like Hasbro to do new figure designs along these lines. Can either brand them with popular/favorite codenames or make them new characters.

While I'm thinking about it, I'd also like to see some of our allies get some love as well. They could be assigned to the Joes on exhange tours. You've already got Big Ben from 22 SAS, but I could easily see troops from the SBS, Special Forces Support Group (SFSG), Special Reconnaissance Regiment (SRR), 18(UKSF) Signal Regiment, a Royal Marine from the Brigade Patrol Troop, a Pathfinder from the Pathfinder Platoon, or guys from one of the Special Observation Post units from the Royal Artillery or 148 Forward Observation Post Battery, Royal Artillery. And other allied units like Canada's JTF-2 and CSOR, or the Australian SASR (although every time I see Outback, that's the first thing that pops into my head), 2 Commando Regiment, or a Combat Controller from the RAAF, or a member or the NZSAS.

I would love to see Filecards for the pilots showing Night Stalkers backgrounds or other Special Ops Aviation teams.

Second, please don't get your mind bogged down into the articles of clothing an artist drew for a figure. Very few characters over the decades are accurate to any degree and clearly are in a unit that does not hold anyone to a dress code. Quote:
In the 80's had Beachhead been assigned at that time to the Reg't, he would have worn a black beret. However he was not and being the proper sort of guy he was/is, he wore a maroon one. Quote:

It seems like Flint was a Rhodes scholar before enlistment. So he could be one of the older members of the team. I like to think of Flint as 180A. He got his Warrant completing the Special Forces Warrant Officer tactical training certification Course and then later went through an accelerated Flight Warrant Officer school since he was already a Warrant Officer. It's cool he is a pilot but it is his Special Forces warrant that makes him unique. Since the first incarnation of Flint had him as E-6, I think the Joes got him right after he got his warrant. Typical administration bureaucracy snafu they listed his rank incorrectly. Probably because he went through Flight school on the Joe's dime so the paperwork didn't match up since he did two warrant officer schools back to back.
