As the throne rose through the opening in the floor and the hydraulic lift locked the massive serpents head into place in his isolation chamber, the commander sat comfortably reclined on red velvet as he stared into a series of monitors from beneath the chrome mask that hid his identity from even those whom he trusted, more or less, to manage his ever expanding organization.
He watched the boardroom react suddenly to the monitor flashing to life at their location elsewhere in the complex, as he tapped the camera in front of him repeatedly thrusting an enlarged and distorted gloved finger at them. "So good to sssee you all in attendance" he began as he leaned closer planting his palms like a bulldog on his pleated uniform pants. The lighting in the dim lit chamber made the grainy image of him all the more menacing. Baroness, a hand on her hip and gesturing with the other, greeted him "Cobra Commander, it is our honor to assemble as such that we might...." "Oh shut up Baronesssss" he hissed "WE have important businesss and Ive prescious little time this morning, in that I have been recently aprised of what is no less than FUCKING HERESY unfolding in the ranks!" Baroness' posture stiffened "Commander, I shall have the Crimson Guard look in on the matter immediately" she looked to Tomax and xamot who eached raised an eyebrow and looked to Robinson who had just entered the room; now panicked that the commander had already launched the morning brief. Robinson immediately approached the monitor and responded "Cobra Commander, whatever your concerns, our best agents will run it to ground; although we have received no reports to suggest that..." "Senior Guardsman, observe the example of your superiors and SILENCE YOURSELF!" the commander stood as he shrieked at them and clenched his fist "This heresy I speak of comes from within your own elite crimson guard corps... you oblivious idiots!" "Commander these allegations...." Tomax began "unlikely as they are, are outrageous" Xamot added "we shall look in on the matter personaly" they both concluded "See that you do and as expediently as possible" the commander demanded "we cannot allow even a whisper of sedition to go unpunished or cobra will not come to power and my rule will not go unchallenged as it mussssssssst!" Robinson swallowed hard as Baroness addressed the commander; he couldnt believe things were going south so swiftly. Banister was missing, offsite security had been compromised, and now his own elite fraternal order was under the microscope for sedition, for "heresy"? what a fucking day already. Her accent thickened when she was stressed, Baroness struggled to calm the commander as Major Bludd smirked from the back of the room; he loved to see her sweat. "Cobra Commander as newly appointed lieutenant commander of the crimson guard corps, there could not be a more serious matter demanding my attention and it will receive my immediate scrutiny. "See that it doesss then, and report to me directly after this little educational exchange; now, was someone going to brief me on our operations here already?!" he sank back into his cushioned seat in the shadows of the serpents mouth and crossed his arms, emphasizing his annoyance. "Immediately Commander" Robinson replied as he akwardly proceeded to the podium, wishing once more he'd just simply shot himself. Last edited by Viper6; 05-10-2012 at 01:01 AM.. |

The gurney wheels fluttered as the masked gunmen wheeled Flint down the hallway. Slowly the sound stirred him and he was coming to. His head swam and his vision was blurred, half blind in the neon lights, his mouth was dry and his mind slow. His breathing was shallow and restricted, as the straps that held him down were expertly tightened; it only took a second for the seriousness of his situation to register as it all came flooding back in a wave of panic. He started actively memorizing every detail, every turn, doorway, and the like; just as they had taught him in S.E.R.E. school.
A pleasent female voice echoed over the loudspeaker indicating a temporary disruption in electrical and network services to a particular section of wherever the hell he was, Flint found it almost comical; were he not shot in the knee and ratchet strapped enroute to what would no doubt be a prison cell where he was sure his life was about to get a whole lot more interesting. The gunmen halted at a security desk where the yheld a conversation in hushed tones with similar uniformed personnel, their eyes occassionally darting to Flint, parked some distance away. Men and women atired in lab coats and scrubs blurred by with their clipbaords and charts, busy about their tasks in what Flint now deduced to be a medical wing; were it not for the uniformed gunmen holding him hostage, it rather resembled a hospital. Whatever painkiller they had pumped into his veins was wearing off, and the gunshot that no doubt shattered his ptella was one of the most painful and aggrivating injuries the warrant officer had ever had. Flint grit his teeth and rolled his eyes as another wave of pain washed over him. A bald man in his late forties approached and stared suspiciously at Flint, one eye enlarged by a monical which trailed a chain into the pocket of his labcoat. His thick eyebrows and moustached smile made him look like a circus performer and his accent was definetly eastern european. "What do we have here?" he questioned as he drew nearer to Flint. "Hmmm, yes, yes... you'll do just fine." Flint didnt like the sound of that, and he knew he neeeded to get the hell out of this place right quick and in a hurry. make sure you check out the indexed thread linking to the blog spot, as this thread (but not title) will soon fallaway, i'll be replacing my signature link with the the new one so you can always find it there. sgthumpty helped me set up a better presentation in which commentary doesnt detract from content (since my readership doesnt respond to the letters page thread and posts here despite numerous requests not too...cough cough). no worries; just glad your lov'n it, much more ahead. keep it crimson and spread the word.

Banister waited patiently outside the reinforced doors, he had no idea how long this was going to take. Only about 10 minutes had passed according to the digital clock in the corner of his heads up display, one of the few functions of the hight tech helmet which functioned without the current crypto. He scrolled through the radio presets unsurprised by the familair static he found on every channel, he really needed to resolve this; one of the coolest things about counting oneself anmong the prestigious Crimson Guard Corps was the sheer amount of information constantly circulating on their network, information off limits and beyond the scope of the rank and file. He sat on the service cart and stared at the Paoli's luggage. He contemplated how unique and interesting their lives must be and wondered about what brought them into the crimson fold, and just how they came to command Cobra's vast intelligence aparatus.
