Robinson looked out through the tinted visor of his helmet, his gaze accustomed to the streaming alpha numeric code that was practically a second language to him. As he studied the faces of Cobra’s High Command the buzz of various priority communications were but a whisper in his ear as the channels cycled on the lowest possible volume. They waited not so patiently for him to begin; the larger than life image of Cobra Commander reclined on the monitor, and he knew that behind the reflective chrome faceplate was an equally impatient expression.
His gloved hand inserted a thumb drive into the laptop secured to the podium and he quickly sorted through the files. Even such a menial task was now complicated by the constant and disruptive thought that there were increasing issues with his Guardsmen and at least one so significant that it had not only reached the ears of the commander, but had gone on without his notice. “Commander… esteemed members of the High Command…” Robinson began, a slight tremble in his voice, likely unnoticed; heavily modulated as it was “It is my privilege to update you on our operations on site, and our activities in the AO”. Robinson detailed the progress on the completion of the Terror Drome, and estimated a timeline that met with the commander’s approval; which slightly elevated the mood. He continued to refocus his tyrannical leader’s wrath, as he briefed the details of the recently idnetified special operations task force set up to target Cobra and by default all associated and subsidiary entities; Arbco, Extensive Enterprises, and M.A.R.S. Industries. The additional information gained from his wife’s employment was of considerable value to the commander who commended Robinson for further identifying the Cobra Agents potentially compromised by this “G.I. JOE” team. Robinson then discussed the morning’s incident at the Arbco garage and explained the intrusion had coincided with a break in their communications and technical security. He explained that the prisoner was on site and pending immediate interrogation by none other than himself at the conclusion of the brief. Robinson volunteered his notion that the prisoner was perhaps a government agent and proceeded to reiterate the need for the Crimson Guard Corps to further penetrate America’s intelligence apparatus. Cobra Commander sorely stated his disappointment in the delay in dealing with said incident, he demanded the Senior Guardsman cease with the excuses he now offered, see to the task at hand, and provide him with a full report as directly able! as the Commander's orders, spoken with furious anger ,echoed in their minds, the monitor in the conference room went black. The twins simultaneously raised an eyebrow and looked to one another in displeasure then fixed their eyes on Robinson “Senior Guardsman…” Tomax began and his brother concluded “we’ll join you shortly in the detention block!” As Robinson saluted and made his exit, the Baroness placed a firm hand on his shoulder, pausing his passage “Do not disappoint me!” she warned, and held him in her icy stare; intense and unforgiving her eyes penetrated through his visor and she could feel him trembling. With a wicked smile she released him and turned her thoughts to the "heresy" the Commander had spoken of. Last edited by Viper6; 06-13-2012 at 03:56 PM.. |

What of us poor, lowly, *whimper* nonattendees? Shall our wretched masses not know the glory of a signed hardcopy (with exclusive material?)

The muddy jeep wrangler sped along the back road of the base and turned down a familiar trail which led to a largely unused “training area” identified as such by the sign which also marked it a restricted area.
The massive off road tires threw mud and stone as the driver took the turns entirely too fast. “Woooo Hoooo” Rock n’ Roll’s eyes were wild with excitement as the veteran operator shifted gears and grinned at the large muscular black man in his passenger seat. “Ah c’mon Road Block, doesn’t everyone love a lil Mud’n?” Roadblock drew a deep breath and looked un-amused as he gripped the roll bar tightly as the jeep sank suddenly into a culvert then quickly launched them out onto the trail again, with Rock N’ Roll's foot heavy on the gas. “You flip this Jeep… and you gonna need, a better friend than me, to help you find your teeth!” Rock n Roll laughed at his old friend “Settle down there Shakespeare…” he paused to sip the warm beer which was thrown from the console and deftly caught by the grizzled grunt “life’s too damn short to be so sour all the time.” “I aint sour, Rock, ya damn drunk, I just don’t wanna spend my day peel’n your ride off my back side.” “Ouch” Rock n’ Roll replied feigning hurt feelings “fuck it, it’s five o’clock somewhere”. The Jeep came to a halt at the bottom of the hill where other members of the Joe team were waiting at an old pavilion. Rock n’ Roll eyeballed the poorly maintained parking lot and ran through the roster based on each of their rides. “Tunnel Rat, Repeater, Gung-Ho, Leatherneck, Hit n’ Run, and some other motherfuckers I don’t know so well.” “Beach Heads here” Road Block gestured towards the ranger and grinned. “Yeah, we aint the best of boys” Rock n’ Roll said, remembering all the bull shit between them. “Oh shit…”Roadblock continued to smile with mischief in his eyes “Scarlett’s here too, mmm mmm mmm… look’n DAMN good and giv’n me wood!” “Duke would have your ass Negro!” Rock n Roll impressed the point by thrusting his beer bottle at the Creol. “Yeah…” he chuckled slapping it way,”but I’d have had THAT ass...and that’d make it aye okay” As Rock n’ Roll and Road Block unloaded their gear bags from the back of the Jeep, Beach Head looked on from the shade of the tin roofed pavilion, he was second guessing his decision to include Rock n’ Roll, but he knew that beyond their petty differences and general dislike of one another, that that old son of a bitch was one of the most bad ass motherfuckers to ever hump a machine gun, unfortunately you could usually smell the whiskey over the cordite.
