Join Date: Jan 2009 Location: Sun Prairie, WI Posts: 8,883 | Tales from Castle Destro was born of my frustration at the short supply of G.I. Joe themed fiction available. That's not to say there isn't a lot of good material out there, but I was interested in stories that didn't feature the same small group of core characters. Determined to write the kind of stories I wanted the read, I started a fan-fiction blog and began work on a short story. I created new characters and dropped them into the existing world with the intention of exploring new areas. To my surprise, it was well-received by friends and fellow fans, who encouraged me to continue writing about the characters I’d introduced.
Tales from Castle Destro Volume I - Mercenary War is available as a free ebook. This is a collected volume of the first twenty-two chapters published at the blog.
Tales from Castle Destro Volume II - Aftermath is now also available as a free ebook. This contains another twenty chapters, which pick up immediately after Volume I ends.
Tales from Castle Destro Volume III - Vengeance is now also available as a free ebook. This contains another twenty chapters, which pick up immediately after Volume II ends.

This was my first attempt at any sort of fiction and I wasn't sure how it would be received, so I appreciate the feedback.

Chilling story there, Humpty! I didn't know you were interested in stories, though on second thought - the bios you've been writing for your customs over the several years have been top-notch. Will we be seeing you flesh-out more of your custom creations? I know I'd like to!

Had a delay in my own story here lately - bit of a speedbump w/ my diabetes & then the wife & kids all got a bug - so I'm a bit behind schedule w/ it... but I really like your characters & their dialog - U set the scene very well...

I read and re-read the story so many times, looking for problems that I wasn't really objective about it anymore.
