Wow, these are fantastic! Love the Sarge and can't wait to see what you have coming up.
I love the idea you're working with of pulling characters from the classic Joe books and giving them cardbacks as if they'd been released as figures back in the day. It's like a trip in the way back machine to a toy store that never existed :0) Keep up the great work! .... |

Thanks. That's exactly what I was shooting for. I like the way you put it. |

Here's a Slaughter's Marauders version of the card.
Thanks for taking a look. I have 2 more versions of Sarge and then it's onto something new. |

Here's the Marvel Joe comic #48 version of Sarge.
Thanks for taking a look! Last edited by timshinn73; 03-16-2010 at 12:32 PM.. |

Niiiice. Not a big fan of the Sarge, but you really nailed his look in the comic book. Excellent stuff.
One thing though, you've got him wearing US Army staff sergeant chevrons. I don't recall if that's what he had on in issue #48, but if you're looking for more real-world accuracy (and if you're looking to avoid a Marine waltzing into this thread and giving you grief ), you might want to switch them out with gunnery sergeant's chevrons: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...f6/USMC-E7.svg |

Wow, that was fast. Excellent work.
You missed the insignia on his hat, though (I don't mind it personally, but you know how some people can get worked up about inter-service confusion and whatnot, particularly when it comes to the Army and the Marines). Last edited by zuludelta; 03-16-2010 at 01:58 PM.. |

I think I'll leave the one on the hat as is. Meant to be a metal pin and not a full color patch. All the photos I've found of Sarge has the brass pin on his hat.
