This project is quite possibly the greatest thing I've ever seen on the internet. You are a true artist ZD.

They were toys made from licenced GI Joe and Palitoy Action Force figures by the Olmec Toy Company. The first wave of of figures were released in 1988, and a box set featuring all-new characters (made purely from licenced GI Joe parts) were produced in 1997. The idea behind the toyline was that they were supposed to be an African-American themed alternative to the mainstream military toys that were popular during the 1980s.
Very interesting. I'll have to look into these guys to expand my version of the joe team. Quote:
Well, I've uploaded an incomplete and low-res version of the GI JOE reference bible as individual pages to my Picasa account (it's missing the psychosocial profiles of the team members, the document cover, and various appendices, and it isn't close to print-quality), which I hope will tide you guys over until I can finish the PDF proper and have it available for download over at Joeuniverse.com. It's 172 pages of scary GI Joe obsession. You can view the files by clicking on the "Filecard Project" link in my signature. Dang. Done already? Very awesome. Looking forward to the file being finished. |

Yeah, one thing I wanted to do away with is the "CLASSIFIED" stuff from the original filecards. The reasoning being, a document like this, outlining a unit's organisation in detail, would already be typed as a classified document (confidential, secret, or top secret), so it doesn't make sense that there would be "more classified" info on it that a reader with access to the document shouldn't be able to see. Thanks Tyroc. I'm curious, how does it look like in print? I lowered the resolution quite a bit (I halved it, I think) when I exported the document to JPEG so that I could upload it to my Picasa account. Of course, when i do release the PDF, it'll be in 300 dpi.
