It wasn't so much the actual bandwidth that I was worried about (it's not going to be that big of a PDF file, especially since I'm not going to embed the fonts). Glad you dig the inclusion of the RoC elements in the Snake-Eyes design. Given how polarising the film is in the Joe community, I was worried that it would introduce a bias against the design I went with.

I just thought I'd let you know, I've started reading your thread through from the beginning to catch up on the numerous design notes I've missed.

I'm up to page 45 right now, making it impractical to attempt to comment on every image, but at that point (and some of the new stuff I've seen as you go along on JU) I can't say I have any complaints. They all look awesome. I also greatly look forward to the final roster document your cooking up.

One question: what are "Bronze Bomber" figures?

and one comment: I especially love the Tom Selleck face for Cutter.

I've been lurking this thread for a little while now, but I wanted to pipe up and say thanks for creating such a great resource. I keep a massive 'to-do' list for custom figures, and I thought it was pretty complete, but you've inspired me to add in the Bronze Bombers as well as a number of obscure comic characters and the 'sticker-only' Joes. The artwork is terrific too. Thanks for all the effort.

They were toys made from licenced GI Joe and Palitoy Action Force figures by the Olmec Toy Company. The first wave of of figures were released in 1988, and a box set featuring all-new characters (made purely from licenced GI Joe parts) were produced in 1997. The idea behind the toyline was that they were supposed to be an African-American themed alternative to the mainstream military toys that were popular during the 1980s.

Well, I've uploaded an incomplete and low-res version of the GI JOE reference bible as individual pages to my Picasa account (it's missing the psychosocial profiles of the team members, the document cover, and various appendices, and it isn't close to print-quality), which I hope will tide you guys over until I can finish the PDF proper and have it available for download over at Joeuniverse.com. You know, upon further inspection, I absolutely *love* all of the unit assignments and ranks. The time you spent getting it all together was well worth it. Everything just clicks. Similar characters are grouped except when they're too similar, if that makes any sense. The early Joes are paid proper respect with regards to their placement and command. Comic and cartoon relationships/groupings are in place where possible. It all just fits. I'd really love to be able to buy these as TRU special packs.
