Love the updates Zulu! I especially like your take on the Fire fighters.

Disappointed you changed BBQ, as he was one of my favorites.
But I like the idea you have going on. What's the Expeditionary Airfield Unit do? Build temporary airfields? Love the Barrel Roll update, great job. I'm stealing Shimik.

I like all of the designs. I'm not fretting too much over the Barbecue change, as I'm sure we'll get another VBSS in return. Candyman and Mace Windu? v3 Barrel Roll is my favorite version of the character as well (one of the absolute best of the VvV/GvC figures too).
I'm very disappointed to see you abandon the COPs designs especially now that you have a dedicated domestic arm of the team (when I saw the redone Longarm, I feared this is where you were headed), but it's your project and I respect the decision. A heads up on your Picasa album: You have to old Ergo image in addition to your corrected version in the album. You've also got the old versions of Gung Ho and Barrel Roll as well. |

Glad you like it. Quote:
Thanks, fixed the issues. That old Ergo pic is starting to annoy me. Picasa's automated update routine doesn't seem to recognise the new version of the file on my PC, which is why I uploaded it manually. Now that I've got it uploaded, the old one keeps popping up everytime I update the online album contents. |

Nice work Zulu! I love the idea of the SeaBee air construction crew. (Kind of fits in with Troys Atoll story in my mind). They are all great. Barrel Roll looks great, as does Shimek. Duma is a Marine? Don't lose the BBQ image. He was awesome and looked so much like the new ROC Flash, I just renamed one BBQ and one Inferno. Nice to see you back in the saddle Zulu! OK now I want my dessert!

They build "semi-permanent" airfields (there's a slight distinction). In the Marines, there's a whole MOS dedicated to the task, whilst in the Navy, the job of setting up and maintaining expeditionary airfields is part of the Steel Worker rating's duties (and the ones who usually do it are Steel Workers in the Construction Battalions).

While I also enjoyed your earlier take on BBQ, I like your 3 man firefighting crew as well. The new Barrel Roll is cool, too.

BTW, I may be jumping the gun a bit, but I love your take on Eagle Eye! Your choice of a head makes a lot of sense. Very cool!

Yup.

BTW, my bad calling it an expeditionary airfield unit. I'm renaming it as an expedient airfield unit, calling it an expeditionary airfield unit might cause some confusion among the jarheads reading this, since the way the Marines use the term "expeditionary airfield," it can also be used to describe full-featured permanent airfields (like the one over at Twenty-Nine Stumps). "Expedient Airfield" is a more accurate descriptor for what I have in mind: a semi-permanent airfield that doesn't necessarily use a series of pre-fab mats for the surfacing (i.e., it can also just be hard-packed earth). Ah, you peeked! Just kidding, I just haven't gotten around to writing the filecards (sans the psych profiles) to go with the last few images I posted, hence the delay in posting the new images I've finished. I'll get around to posting them by tomorrow, hopefully. |

Right now, I'm in the midst of making sure that my take on the GI Joe team truly represents the idea of them being "Real American" heroes in terms of demographics.
I've already ensured that every state is represented on the roster (originally, Delaware didn't have any contributions to the GI Joe team, but I fixed that by making Col. Sharpe a Delaware native). I've also made sure that United States territories like Puerto Rico, the Northern Marianas Islands, Guam, American Samoa, and the US Virgin Islands get represented on the roster. Contrary to popular perception, people born in those territories are constitutionally considered US nationals, and they are assured many of the same rights and protections as US citizens, they just don't get to vote in congressional or presidential elections (unless they've lived in a US state for more than 5 years and have successfully applied for full US citizenship). I'm also making sure that the top 10 immigrant populations in the US are represented (Mexican, Chinese, Filipino, Indian, Vietnamese, Cuban, Salvadoran, Dominican, Canadian, Korean). I'm not messing with existing Joes' birthplaces, though. Any concessions to demographics will be applied to the Joes I've "acquired" from non-ARAH toyline sources. |
