Thanks!
I haven't posted the image here just because I'm too ensconced with colour corrections and reformatting the file info. But yeah, I like how he turned out (anybody who wants to see the full image, just click on the Concepts link in my signature... I've got updated pictures of Duke in there as well as a bunch of others I can't remember right now). Quote:

Yeah, I just might do that. It's mostly a hosting issue. I'm thinking of making a basic website to host this (instead of relying on a file hosting service like sendspace... I want more control over how it looks like as it's being "served"... I want previews up and I want to offer readers the option of either downloading the document/s and viewing it offline with a conventional PDF reader or viewing it directly via an in-browser PDF reader) or maybe convincing someone with the time and resources to host it for me. Either way, chances are it's going to be on a limited-bandwidth site so keeping the doc as small as possible without sacrificing image quality will always be a main guiding directive. |

If you decide to "release the beast", megaupload.com might do the trick as far as file hosting goes. |

Good call with Tahoma. A lot easier to read in smaller font sizes than Arial, but it's not that much bigger (the switch from Arial to Tahoma only added 2 pages to the document length, despite Tahoma's wider kerning).

Some concept pics just to keep community interest in the project from flagging (ha ha):
Hawk, Duke, Spirit, Longstreet Design notes:
No new filecards for these guys... I'll be retiring the filecard section of my Photobucket account as soon as I finish making the new format file cards (more like "file pages"). Only reaon I'm leaving them up is for people who came to the party late and want to get caught up with what I'm trying to do. I'll be making more new composite images as I go along... just to keep this thread and community interest going (my focusing solely on updating the old images might sap momentum from the project). Thanks for looking! Last edited by zuludelta; 11-09-2009 at 05:27 PM.. Reason: Hawk picture updated |

I debated a while with regards to the minimum commissioned officer rank I'd allow for the Joe team. I finally went with O-2, with the caveat that the only O-2s on the team would be former enlisted men who went to OCS (that way they'd have at least as much real-world experience and branch qualification training as junior captains). It always bothered me in the old comics that Breaker was the team's "communications officer" and had all these qualifications (spoke 7 languages, cleared to work with various covert electronics technologies) yet he was only an E-4.

I think it's an awesome way to do it. It's what Rapid -Fire did. I guess you switched Breaker and Sparks? I know you had Sparks as a 0-3 before as your Communications Officer.

Been busy past couple of days, but here are some new composite images (no new filecards for these... as I've mentioned in an earlier post, I've stopped making individual filecards in the traditional format and will be creating them as more of a formal document, I've listed the relevant stuff underneath the pics, though): Sgt. Slaughter
Deep-Six
Delphi

They look awesome Zulu. I really like your composite of the Sarge. Natalie Portman makes a terrific Delphi / Dial Tone II. Can't wait to see your new format bios. Are you still thinking of adding some personality profiles into the new format?
