I LOVE THE VIPERS!!! That's an awesome real world look for the Vipers corps. I never understood the huge differences in the looks, yeah, selling toys, lol..
Absolutely love the Scout-Sniper, that is awesome. Great job like always Z.

Wow just when I thought you had hit badassness, you go and outdo yourself. Love the Range-Viper more than anything in the world. I love the Vipers too. It was first wierd to see the Helmets since it looks like the guy in Star Wars that came out recently, But It's grown on me. Can't wait for more.
I was checking out ranks in your Cobra org, just making sense of who is who again. Does Storm Shadow know Firefly gets paid more than he does? |

Love the Vipers! They look great, like the new ROC Elite-Vipers (the only "regular" Vipers I like). Nice unified look to them.

These vipers are top notch. Just for curiosity, were do you get your documentation?

Cobra Organizational Profile v1.02 (64 Kb PDF file via sendspace) I've tried to keep the Cobra organization as lean and mean as I can whilst still including certain hallmark characters. I've tried to organize it like a modern medium-sized company. For example, I don't have any Kitchen-Vipers or any of those obscure Viper types that popped up in the later comics. A company of Cobra's size wouldn't waste its resources on maintaining its own organic catering division, they'd just go hire a third-party catering company to take care of it. The same with workaday clerical types. Yup. I was originally going to go with an actual skull mask like in the original but it just looked too goofy in a real-world context (not to mention that the white would totally stand out from the rest of his uniform). Ha! You mean the stuff I reference for the filecards and such? I get them from everywhere, basically. Personal experience, books, journals, industry publications, and of course, the internet... here are the main non-government sites I frequent when I'm looking for specific contemporary military information: GlobalSecurity.org - Reliable Security Information United States Military Information Federation of American Scientists |

Now that is a really cool set up for the Cobra Org. LOVE IT!
So does it mean there is only one VIPER Platoon, and One Crimson Guard Platoon, and One Iron Grenadiers Platoon? No Right, that's just the structure for those Units. I guess based on the Manning Requirements for the VIPER Platoon, Grim Skull, Gallows, and Guillotine would each have their own Platoons. Are their multiple CG detachments? (Love the Civil Affairs aspect BTW) Or is there only one under Professor Appel? Same thing hold true for the Iron Grenadiers under Voltar? One more question: What is the role of MARS? Weapons dealers still? Just curious as to what are the duties of an Ordnance Operations Detachment is? Like I suppose there is a real world application for such a thing in regards to what Mercenary/Private Military groups can provide. Oh yeah does Storm Shadow know Firefly gets paid more than him? After looking at all your new stuff, and I can't wait for the Iron Grenadiers now, Should I buy more Range-Vipers or MARS industy figures? hmmm. |

Just one IG platoon. Given their role (which I expound on below), I don't think there's a call for more IGs. Quote:

The decision to go with that was partially influenced by the Iron Grenadiers name... the Ordnance Corps of many Western nations (including the US) have adopted the shell & flame as their insignia. Incidentally, the shell & flame is also the symbol associated with the UK's Grenadier Guards. So I sort of conflated the two (Ordnance duties + Grenadier name), and came up with an EOD role for the Iron Grenadiers. What I'm looking for is a name for the "generic" MARS weapons engineers (I've yet to make a manning requirements table for them). Ferret, Nullifier, and Annihilator don't sound right. I'm leaning towards using the "Iron Anvil" name (because it's suggestive of a weapons-making role and it's a nice counterpart to the Iron Grenadiers name) but the original Iron Anvil guys were airborne commandos, not armaments scientists. What do you think? Quote:
Depends on what you're going to do with them. I think the RoC MARS/Iron Grenadiers figures are easier to work with if you're planning on modding them (fewer and more generic-looking paint apps). The Range-Viper figures look better "out-of-the-box," though, and you can never have enough 1:18 M60 machine guns. Last edited by zuludelta; 09-16-2009 at 01:10 PM.. |
