I was originally going to use deceased WWF wrestler Dino Bravo for Road-Pig's face (I used to play my Road-Pig figure as Dino Bravo when I played out wrestling scenarios with my Joes... the original figure totally looks like him) but Bravo's features are too soft for the look I wanted to go for.
Lesner's is perfect with that Cro Magnon look he has going on.

Yeah, I really wanted to throw that in... gives him this dangerous "I don't give a f***" attitude given that he spends his time working with flammable and explosive materials.

Yeah, I can see him pouring gun powder into a grenade well a lit cigerrette is in his mouth and him hanging over the grenade and the other 'Noks all taking a couple of steps back.

I'm a bit behind, so here we go:
Firefly looks amazing, and I like the idea of him using a shotgun a lot. Road Pig and 'Wrench look fantastic as well. Just as you did with many of the Joes, you're making me fans of many of the Cobras as well. The only one I'm not really feeling is Zartan. I do like the white face paint, but I suppose I just associate Zartan more with Australia than Japan (Larry's penchant for making everyone associated with the Arashikage clan be damned). For that reason, I always kind of saw Zartan's face paint as some kind of aboriginal war paint. That said, you did a great job of realizing Zartan based on revelations from the accounts in his expanded history. |

I love Firefly. Great.
Zartan looks good too, but why the orange face paint instead of the traditional black? Monkeywreck looks good as does Roadpig. I always thought that Roadpig was a Tony Mandarich tribute figure. He has the shoulder pads. He was from Go Blue Michigan. Boy did that never pan out. |

Yo, Zulu. Nice "Kabuki" thing on Zartan. It gives him a stronger statement about himself, while keeping the features similar to the original. I figure this would be his trademark Make-up color scheme - then have different combos against varying environments (he is, after all, a chameleon).
Firefly is how he should be - Grey camo with attitude. The shotgun is definitely the saboteur's weapon of choice. MonkeyWrench and RoadPig rock. The updates totally work. Nice work on the Symbols too. |

Thanks!
As I mentioned in the original post with Zartan's image, the make-up is based on the theatrical make-up pattern used to identify the kabuki character Kitsune Tadanobu/Genkurō, a shapeshifting fox-spirit. Switching the paint from red to black would sort of defeat the purpose of my making the association (there's some symbology with the use of the colour red... it's used to accent emotion and intent, and that symbology would be lost if I switched to black). Thanks man! |
