In retrospect, I think I might have overdone the camo paint a bit. I'll play around with the image some more and see what I'll come up with. Thanks for the suggestions. |

I've updated the Tunnel Rat image. I think this one looks better than the earlier version (also replaced the face with that of a modified pic of Taiwanese actor Chang Chen). My biggest issue with mimicking the toy face paint camo was the lack of an underlying "base coat" so to speak. I've given him a thin patina of olive drab to complement the darker smears, which I think is a good compromise between the toy design and my ideal face paint camo.

Love your stuff!
BTW - Tollbooth more likely went to combat engineer AIT, if he's an AVLB operator, instead of bridge crewmember. I was an engineer, so it was hard for me not to notice. |

Thanks! I like how the image turned out as well. Definitely looks meaner. He almost reminds of a Vietnam War-era machine gunner (if it wasn't for the modern M60E4). Last edited by zuludelta; 11-06-2010 at 06:38 PM.. |

Yeah. The AVLB is the only bridge not handled by actual bridge companies.
Combat engineers and bridge crewmembers go to the same AIT, They learn the basic engineer skills (demo, mines, breaching/obstacles) together. They then split off into more MOS specific training later on, but at the same time they are still in the same AIT company and graduate in the same class together. Bridge crewmembers mainly deal with the bailey, ribbon, MGB, and HDSB. They are considered combat support and are not really in the front lines. They can also be used as a transport unit since they have the trucks to haul heavy equipment. Combat engineers are more infantry like. Like the name says (combat), they are right there next to infantry and armor units during battle. This also makes it easier for them to get airborne, air assault and sapper school slots. (It's very, very rare to see a bridge engineer qualified in those unless they were a combat engineer first). Mechanized/wheeled combat engineers handle the AVLB, Wolverine (A modern bridgelayer. Not the coverlgirl one) and other armored type engineer vehicles. Light engineers are pretty much foot infantry with demolition and mine capabilities in tow. Nice to know Mazinger (awesome forum handle, BTW).
Going into more obscure characters: Switch Gears, Snow Storm, Wildcard notes:
Thanks for looking! |

Clever workaround for Snow Storm and Switch Gears (really curious to see *those* filecards). The new Wild Card looks good as well. I welcome changes when the original aspect was silly.

Yes. I saw the previous versioin you had of Switch Gears, but this one looks great. Wildcard looks great too. I thought I saw another driver in photobucket that caught my eye as well.
