The mustache on Harper is good.
I'm not sure about Serpentor. You spent so much time on your last incarnation of Serpentor I'm not sure how this one ranks against that one. But the figurehead CEO grew on me. This Sir Pentuar looks more like a guy who gets his hands dirty. One issue I have is I don't know if the rest of his outfit is ornate enough. I kind of like the Helmet as it relates to the Vipers. I think if he had some sort of thigh pads, a side arm and perhaps some sort of guilded Dagger it may help to balance out the top half with his legs. That's of course my opinion. I'm just glad you're including Serpentor to begin with. Serpentor plays a large role in my Joe-Verse.

Both of the suits looks slimy, so mission accomplished. ;)
As for Sir Pentaur, I like it overall. I hope some of the backstory from your first one makes it in. I do agree with LC in that it seems like a waste to throw the figurehead stuff away, but if you have someone else in mind for the role then that works too (I hope the figurehead is in there somewhere). That said, Serpentor mixing it up on the field can be a good thing too. I will say that I like the look overall, but I think he's missing a couple things. One, he needs some kind of shin/forearm protection since that has been present in all of his designs. Two, Serpentor should be a big, physically imposing guy by all accounts. Good work! |

Here's the updated take on Sir Pentaur:
EDIT: updated image, see next page The outfit looks a tad outlandish, but it's actually based on real world body armor. I ditched the Dragon Skin vest in the original re-design for a Damascus Flex Force tactical suit. The only "mod" I made to the standard Damascus suit is I removed the hard composite shell from the front chest panel to expose the protective Protium foam, to give Sir Pentaur "scales" like on the ARAH Serpentor toy (users will occasionally remove the front panel to reduce weight and improve flexibility, so it's not purely an aesthetic choice). His helmet is a modern MICH/ACH helmet, with a vanity snake-head custom airbrush job. I decided to make the final design something of a conflation between the classic Serpentor figure and the Serpentor clone General Philip Rey, keeping Serpentor's colours and the reptilian hints to the costume, but incorporating it into a more practical battle uniform like the one worn by Rey. Thanks for looking, and thanks to Loose Cannon and Master Thespian for the suggestions. Last edited by zuludelta; 10-13-2010 at 06:01 PM.. Reason: updated image, see next page |

I love it! He looks like a guy I can see running around the battlefield now, but it's still clearly Serpentor. And that was a really smart move incorporating Rey into the visuals. It really works on many levels. Fantastic work, z!

You should post some of your artwork sometime. You seem like you've got some skills from that quick sketch.
