Forget all the bad stuff I've ever said about you. Ok well I never said any but Skullbuster is a hit for me. One of my new favorite characters. In my mind he has to be one of the biggest badasses in Cobra, just be the nature of his position. I love the Skull-face mask. Brilliant really. The streetsweeper is also a great touch. My only gripe is his right arm looks a little undersized compared to his build and hand size.
Scrap-Iron just looks good. Baroness looks real nice. I like th elong trench coat on Destro. I think someone should be wearing that thing. It's a natural fit for a Cobra Officer.

Thanks! Thanks. I wasn't entirely sure Skullbuster would work out done using the parameters I'd set for myself. |

Yeah, I think it's a case of convergent design that all the recent official recreations of Destro (Resolute, Renegades, etc.) have him with a coat of some sort. It just makes for a good visual and silhouette.

Thanks guys.
I'm trying to fill all the major corporate positions in COBRA with "named" characters but there aren't that many in official toy canon, and many of the ones that do exist are so outlandish and will have to be altered to fit in with the context and concept I have for COBRA, so much so that they'll end up being nothing like their original designs in terms of appearance and/or origins (guys like Serpentor, Golobulus, Nemesis Enforcer, etc.) and sort of defeat one of my primary goals with the project (which is to keep a reasonable measure of similarity between the original designs and my interpretations). I'm thinking of "importing" more grounded named characters from the comics and the cartoon to fill in the gaps. Here's a list of the ones I'm considering:
What do you guys think? Last edited by zuludelta; 09-30-2010 at 06:59 PM.. |

A lot of those guys seem sort of redundant. What roles are you trying to fill? I'm not familiar with many of them from the cartoons, but Fred I, Fred II, Kwinn, Cadet Demming, and Professor Jones are more memorable for me. Are you looking for Accountants and Political Guys?
As far as Mercenaries all of Destro's generals, may fit; Darklon, Mayhem, Voltar, as well as Overlord (Sorely in need of a make over)

I'm thinking of not using the Iron Grenadiers characters at all... personally, I preferred when MARS was a non-paramilitary outfit (pre-issue #69 of the Marvel comics). To me, Destro worked better as a Cobra associate (who just happened to be the president of an arms company) as opposed to heading his own little costumed army. The addition of the Iron Grenadiers, to me, diluted the focus of the comic. There's a reason why every re-boot of the property since ARAH ended has had Destro with Cobra... he works best when he serves as the contrasting "noble-but-misguided" character to Cobra Commander within Cobra. |
