Also, if you check the recon element diagram, I've got two HVT Tracker Teams there. They aren't really a part of any current LRSU that I know of, but thought it would be nice to incorporate them. The HVT (High-Value Target) Tracker Team is based on the concept of the brigade-attached hunter-killer/combat tracker teams from the Vietnam War (and still in limited use today). Although instead of their mission being the re-establishment of contact with fleeing enemy elements, GIJOE's HVT Tracker Teams are tasked with hunting down and capturing specific briefed high-value targets for questioning/interrogation and eventual prosecution. There are different types of reconnaissance missions. While most are predicated upon avoiding contact with the enemy, a particular type of mission, the "armed reconnaissance" mission has the primary purpose of locating and attacking targets of opportunity (i.e., enemy materiel, personnel, and facilities) in assigned general areas and/or along assigned ground communications routes. Thanks for the comments and questions guys! |

Welp, here's the final (hopefully) outline of organisation:
Final Outline of Organization v1 5 - Fullscreen I've tried to really trim the fat whilst keeping the significant characters in the ARAH (1982-1994) roster and throwing nods to certain characters from the Sgt. Savage & the Screaming Eagles (Sgt. Savage and D-Day)and GI Joe Extreme (the original Lt. Stone) mythos. Also updated some images: Footloose, Stalker, Dusty, and Mainframe continued next post... I love it. LOVE IT. You've hit every single note I could have hoped for. From character pairings to finding a middle ground between what a character is and what that character should be, you nailed it. My favorite new addition among many is the HVT teams. You took several characters that really create a lot of problems and made them work all in one place. I can see the dog handlers really working here. Blowtorch? Useful. And somehow, Snake Eyes really works in this setting. Perhaps it's the pairing with Stalker? As for the images, each one turned out really well. I'm digging the tougher face in Stalker in particular and I'm really happy to see that you made Courage into a Marine. He looks much more in line with his original figure and his new job title is more interesting as well. I have no complaints, only praise. Great job, z. I can't wait to see what's next. |

Well, it's back to writing the filecards, which should be a lot easier now that I've streamlined the "named" members and won't be working on filler characters. Thanks! BTW, for those of you who might not have noticed, I've changed the link that my sig points to. It now points to a MyOpera photo album instead of a Picasa album. Picasa's been giving me problems lately (pics being randomly deleted, spotty syncing with the files on my PC, etc.) so I decided to migrate everything to MyOpera, I just don't have the patience to deal with Google's shit. I'll still be doing parallel uploads to Photobucket though, for those of you who still keep tabs on my folder over there. |

Wow! They all look great, but I really love that Blowtorch, Zulu. You found a way to include him that's very practical and befitting his code name. The org chart looks great, too. Everyone seems to be in positions that work with their specialties without being shoehorned in. I'm glad that although you got rid of most of the aviation element, you kept Barbecue and put Lifeline back as a member of the Treatment Team. Speaking of which, how do theywork? Do they accompany teams individually, or do they set up aid stations? Also, any chance of seeing the Stall siblings?

Not in the immediate future, no. I just want to get this particular roster done and squared away ASAP (I'll be busy come the summer). |

Well as always your command structures are facinating to me. I guess this is the same set up you just moved some people around. The Recon element is the most fun to view. Love the team set ups. Those are some great combinations of guys who seem to fit together just right.
You seem to have a good amount of the 82-94 characters. Sorry to see some of them go as you worked so hard on some great images (All of Sky Patrol comes to mind), but many are now redundant or obsolete. Love the HVT Tracker teams. Cool stuff. Can't wait to see the updated filecards. Picassa crashed my brand new computer after I installed it to looked at the old set up you had. So I'm a little down on Picassa myself. And yes Courage looks good as a Jarhead. Nice to see Kingmaker or Gen Ryan's image reused. I am not a fan of the blue pants and white shirt look that the Army has. And to this day I've never seen anyone wear it, and I watch Armed Forces Network everyday. How does the Joe team get deployed? Like would this entire (Battalion?) set up in the field under a SOCOM command? at a Forward Observation post? Or do elements remain at a larger, shared base with the recon teams going out and engaging in collections and armed reconnaissance? I guess I'm really wondering about how something like Bagram Airfield operates with all the different units present, how they share the motorpool or does each unit have it's own motorpool with garage? Seems sort of wasteful to have 10 different sets of Hydrualic lifts if that is indeed the case ,or do they have one big motorpool for everyone's use? Sorry just thinking out loud.

I'll go into more detail in the actual document itself but here's a quick rundown: The C2 Element, the ACE, and the Support Element are co-located in the contiguous US (they form the "headquarters", so to speak). It's the Intel Collection Element and the Recon Element who go out and deploy (either jointly/singly as autonomous GIJOE units or as supporting units to larger DoD or NATO operations) overseas. Select members and sub-units of the C2E, ACE, and SE also deploy as necessary to reinforce the Collection and Recon Elements. Also, the UAV platoon's headquarters and ground control station can operate the team's UAVs from the contiguous US via military satellites, although the launch and recovery teams still need to deploy overseas to handle the actual launching and recovery of UAVs.
