Nice Zulu. So what Government Agency is only 300 or so personnel. Or I guess Special Detachment to a govenment Agency. I like the tie in with the orignal Ace filecard. It all comes together. I was always inspired by your Air Liason and Tactical Air Party stuff, but that's all gone.

The latest GIJOE concept is partially inspired by the State Department's Bureau of Intelligence and Research (INR), which has just ~150 analysts working for it (compare that with the CIA, which has almost 2000!). Despite its small size, the INR is considered one of the better and more objective US intelligence agencies, largely uninvolved in the bipartisan politics and pissing contests that plague many US government offices. For the most part, the INR was relatively unscathed in the 2004 and 2007 Senate Reports on Pre-war Intelligence on Iraq... IIRC, it was the only intelligence agency that registered official opposition to the 2003 invasion, on the grounds that there wasn't any tangible evidence to directly link the Iraqi government to either Al-Qaeda or the storage of WMDs and that rash US military action might actually enable and empower Al-Qaeda and other similar terrorist groups in areas where they didn't have any significant presence previously. The CIA, on the other hand, got raked over the coals for faulty intelligence-gathering and analysis and misleading policy makers and the American public with unverified claims (whether the misleading was intentional or not is still a hotly debated topic, and I'm not touching that one with a ten foot pole).

My first reworking of Joe for my J.O.E.verse had them done around 50 people max.
I managed to keep Wild Bill, but due to his time on the ground, I was able to attach him to Flint's helicopter insertion unit and he was a groundpounder that could fly choppers. Basically he was the teams "get out of Dodge". Instead of having to wait for someone to come get them, he'd be along to get them out. Same with Clutch and Crankcase (both Rangers). Not sure if that works for what you got going on now or not Z, but that's one way to work those guys in.

Not that I know of. The INR primarily deals with intelligence analysis, not so much field intelligence collection. Granted, what I know of the INR is probably out-of-date now (it was much easier to find information about them a few years ago... I noticed that newer INR documents that relate to staffing are harder to find on the interwebs these days). It's not too difficult to imagine that they have at least some sort of contextual rapid response team, though, similar to the State Department's Office of the Coordinator for Counterterrorism's Foreign Emergency Support Team (FEST). |

Pretty cool. I'd say #5 and #7 would look the best if you were to use one. But maybe a guy like Zartan is a professional and through trail and error picked the pattern he wears. Plus the hood obstructs his face as well.

Yeah, #s 5 and 7 look like they can be adapted for Zartan. #1 and #3 look like they could work for Zandar.
