So how are you going to handle it?
Easiest would be to not have them start that way, and it just happens over the course of working together. Colton's not going to let two of his most valuable operatives go because they fell for eachother, so in the 5 year revisit can work something out, lol

I'll deal with it the same way Hama did in the original Flint and Lady Jaye filecards: I'm not going to make mention of it at all. But as I said, I'm writing them both as warrant officers, so there's really no impropriety going on even if I do decide to write in a relationship between them.
The romance between the two was a cartoon thing anyway, but it eventually carried over into the comic (probably as a result of Hasbro execs wanting Hama to include the popular relationship in the comic): Flint and Lady Jaye already had a romantic relationship brewing in the cartoons as early as the summer of 1984 (during the original airing of the "Revenge of Cobra" mini-series), but in the comics, it wasn't until the summer of 1986 that Hama showed a hint of a relationship between the two (in issue #53). Hama, being a veteran himself, is probably aware of the impropriety of a warrant officer dating an enlisted person, so I doubt if he originally intended the two to have a relationship when he first created them. Very cool. For a second I was afraid Condor was going to be a reworked Airborne, lol
Love 'em. Looks good. Sparks has a feel of Coltons right hand man to him.

Yeah, I always thought he was just a stand-in for Breaker in the cartoons (his portrayal in the cartoon looks more like the original 1982 Breaker filecard image than cartoon Breaker does!) but in the DDP comics, he was portrayed as more of an XO-type.

Yeah. I use him as the guy in charge of the Operations/Command center.

Damn, z. You brought a tear to my eye. Thanks for honoring the ol' boy like that. You're right about the Malinois. I've never seen another one that looked just like Jack, but I'll be damned if he didn't have the physical capabilities of a much younger dog right up until he passed (which is what caught us so off guard; he was running around playing one day, gone from cancer the next).
Sad to see Trakker go, but he was a potential can of worms and I'm glad you dropped Rocky and Fridge (despite my previous encouragements). Sparks looks really good there as well. Maybe I'm alone, but the prior Crazyleg's color scheme looked pretty boss to me. How many characters have been dropped all in all? |
