Is it better than sticking with the whole falconer thing? Maybe, I don't know, but the idea of an avian fashion fetishist working as an accountant for a private military consulting firm, to me, is a lot easier to swallow than the notion of a guy dressed in a giant bird-suit being hired by a terrorist organization to breed and train tactical "attack birds."
I was gonna bug you about doing these guys. Pretty cool, Zulu. Definitely enjoyed their story in the Marvel book. |

The Action Force guys look cool (especially Jingles and Friday). I really like how they're starting to gel together. EDIT: I saw you went back and updated your Ace image. I understand why he's in a pilot's uniform, but why not use the original Ace image you did way back when? His stance was more natural and he OOZED personality. The new one is kind of generic and something about his arms makes them look like mannequin limbs. Last edited by Master Thespian; 08-15-2009 at 11:06 AM.. |

I'm with Thespian on Raptor. Have a hard time seeing him in a board room. You could give him a pet falcon. That would be pretty eccentric, having a pet bird in an office.

I will say that a slightly more business casual looking outfit topped off by the jacket would have probably been more appropriate. He can be eccentric, but this is still a corporate environment full of highly competent scientists, business and ex-military men. Just my thoughts.

I already posted this on another thread but it didn't get much play, but I've always wondered about this:
(L) Marvel Comics' Skullbuster (first appearance May 1988); (R) Hasbro Skull Buster (first appearance 2002) I'm not saying that Hasbro's Skull Buster was a straight up rip off of Marvel's Skullbuster... after all, the 2002 Skull Buster figure was basically a repaint of the 1990 Range-Viper figure (which was, as far as I can tell, not directly inspired by Marvel's Skullbuster character at all). But I can't help but think the guys on Hasbro's design team that year saw the skull helmet and the ammo belt on the Range-Viper, made the tenuous connection with Marvel's Skullbuster, got creative with the space bar on their keyboard, and called it a day. |

Friday and Jingles look great!
I never knew about Skullbuster the Marvel character, but the similarities are there. Maybe they took the name. I'm a huge Skullbuster fan. When I got the original figure I thought he must have been a total badass, since I view the Range-Vipers as Cobra's Green Beret. Then his portrayal in DDP I though was awesome. This new Cobra Shadow Tracker guy has got to be a nod to the Skullbuster in the DDP run with the Dreadlocks and the skull mask. Although the DDP one didn't seem like a black guy, but it makes more sense with the Dreadlocks. Does that Skullbuster from Marvel have anything to do with Marvel's Crossbones? (If they make a Crossbones figure I can die a happy man) |

Updated the Raptor image to take into account some of your suggestions:

Nope, nothing to do with Crossbones. Skullbuster was a Wolverine villain. Last edited by zuludelta; 08-15-2009 at 10:26 PM.. |

Here's a look at my take on the GI Joe team's DUI (distinctive unit insignia):
This was inspired by the design of the DUI of the USSOCOM Joint Forces Command Army Element The Fairbairn-Sykes knife represents the Army's special-operations personnel on the team, the lightning bolt represents the Air Force's, the trident the Navy's, and the anchor the USMC's. The black field stands for the concealed and stealthy nature of the Joe team's missions, while the green represents land-based operational capability and the blue field represents the unit's airborne & seaborne insertion capabilities. Written in a banner (coloured in Ranger black & gold) below the shield is the Latin phrase "Ex Scientia Victoria," which translates into English as "From knowledge comes victory," which is basically a fancy way of saying "Knowing is half the battle" Here's the GI Joe team's beret and shoulder flash: This is basically the crossed gold emblems of the team's DUI laid over the JSOC (Joint Special Operations Command) beret flash. This was inspired by DEVGRU's shoulder insignia, which uses a similar design scheme. Oh and great idea with the Latin phrase... Hasbro should really pick up on that and use it Last edited by meleeinabox; 08-15-2009 at 10:48 PM.. |

hmmm... I am not sure about this one... I know it is Raptor and everything and I guess anyone would look like a fruitcake wearing his costume however he really looks like a gay David Bowie on his way to some manhole back in the 1970's (not implying David Bowie is gay- I don't know just a commentary on the image)... He really needs wings instead of a coat made of falcon feathers... I like all your other ones but this one just doesn't work... sorry.
