I'm almost saddened that the Joes cards have such an icon look to them and not many people would want you to deviate from them. The Action Force cards have a sleek look and the font is easier on the eyes than the Joes cards which force the reader to align the letters themselves. I personally wouldn't mind seeing an updated font on the Joes cards (who uses a typewriter anymore these days?).
Don't worry, I haven't forgotten about Cobra and the remaining Joes I've yet to make images and filecards for. I'll probably post a couple of new Cobras before the weekend is over. Last edited by zuludelta; 08-14-2009 at 12:46 PM.. |

Thanks man. I don't think it was Baron Ironblood who became Cobra Commander though, it was Red Laser (one of his underlings... the toy was a Cobra Commander repaint). Ironblood (along with The Black Major) basically disappeared in the comics once Marvel UK took over the Action Force comics.
WORLD ENEMY No. 1 He decides to kill all of the Red Shadows to change his identity and he changes Red Jackel to Destro. This link is the World Enemy No. 1 series which was the end of what was a pretty good comic. A few comics later there was the Revenge of the Red Shadows where Black Major and Red Laser attack Cobra Commander for trying to kill them all. REVENGE OF THE RED SHADOWS I don't know if we ever see the Red Shadows again. http://www.bloodforthebaron.com/comi...093/index.html Baron Ironblood's File Last edited by Loose Cannon; 08-14-2009 at 01:07 PM.. Ah, okay. I was just going by his wiki entry. I'll have to read through those, I didn't know BFTB archived all the old b&w comics. All I've read from the original titles are some old Battle Action comics that I don't even have any more.

You can spend 4 days in there and not read everything. Believe me I tried. But I guess they have everything, plus the battlefiles are somewhat interesting. Not all of them but some.

Man, the Datafile on Beaver is hilarious: "They seldom see Beaver come... "

Awesome stuff as always Zulu.
Love the slogan for the international Action Force. "With United Powers" is perfect for a team made up of people from all the different countries.

Glad you're digging them Troy. As promised, here's a return to making Cobra characters:
Raptor Design notes: - Redesigned Raptor as a brilliant but eccentric accountant with a hard-on for bird-themed fashion (that's an ostrich feather jacket he's wearing). Is it better than sticking with the whole falconer thing? Maybe, I don't know, but the idea of an avian fashion fetishist working as an accountant for a private military consulting firm, to me, is a lot easier to swallow than the notion of a guy dressed in a giant bird-suit being hired by a terrorist organization to breed and train tactical "attack birds." |

Aahhh yes. The circle is now complete. I can totally see this guy hanging out with your Dr. Mindbender, Zulu. Man, the adventures they'll have...
Love the feathers. Totally Raptor, dude. I think he needs a briefcase and a falcon somewhere in the background - although it'll ruin the format consistency of your image collection - I take it back looks good already, ZD! |
