Still have to detail the front grill and build driver's seat and dashboard. Then I will save all the pieces as individual .stl files dump them into Cura and see if they slice for printing. If that goes well I will upload the files to Thingiverse so anyone with a 3d printer can download and print it.

Added some detail to the grill. Also, the body is sectioned so it can be handled by most printers, I designed an extension so you could print and add one in front of and another behind the rear wheels to make the extended length version of the van.

Built seat and dash since my last pic. Also have been working on exporting each piece into a slicer. Unfortunately my computer is running a 32 bit operating system so Cura 2.3 is the newest version I can download. But each piece has received some updates after viewing it in the slicer. It's still going to require supports and rafts on a few pieces. I have some ideas to eliminate support but it may make an aesthetic change to the model and I'm not sure that trade off is worth saving a few grams of plastic and a few minutes of post processing.

17 people have downloaded the files already so hopefully in a few days I'll get some feedback and can make changes accordingly. One guy that downloaded it plans on making it an RC vehicle. That would be insanely cool.

Next "Thing" in progress.
A fun little Guard Shack, I should have this up on Thingiverse tonight or tomorrow. All I have left to do is hinge the arm, build a console and chair for the interior. What do you guys think? Last edited by matchmade; 02-27-2018 at 03:03 PM.. |

Also... if there are items you would love to see designed for 3d printing let me know, if I get enough requests for something and it's within my skill set to do so I will give it a shot.

Looks promising. Can we see a larger picture? I'm curious how you executed it.
