Hi to all of you at this great forum,
as I didn´t find a thread to officially say "Hello" I use this first post for this issue, too! So - here´s an official "hello" from one of germany´s few GI Joe fans (there aren´t that many in this country). My first post is born from a certain request in which some of you may hopefully help me (please :-) ). I´m looking for high-res, meaning about more than 1200 pixels at 72dpi, packaging Pics of the following vehicles (which - of course - I personally do not own) to build some nice wallpaers and stuff. I took some low-res pics from yojoe.com to specify this request. Here we go: 1983 Cobra H.I.S.S. 1985 Sentry Missile System, SEARS Excl. 1985 C.A.T., SEARS Excl. 1986 Cobra Night Raven Of course I would share the finished wallpapers with all of you here. Thanks so much in advance! edit: my request has changed a bit... look at my post from May 2010

Oh, that´s pretty cool. Though it´s not as big in resolution as I could need it but it´s way better than anything I´ve found so far! Thanks a lot for that one!

After a long time of travelling nearly the whole world, I'm finally back online.... and still searching for packaging art. ;)
Are there maybe any informations about the name(s) of the artit(s) who done the great art back in the days and is there another page like the above mentioned with box art covering post-1985 stuff?

Forget the art. You have been travelin' the world for over a year. That's where this thread needs to go. Where did you go? What did you do? Did you find any Joe stuff? What's it like being the only Joe fan in Germany? Willkommen zuruck!

After that another great deal of my travelling was focussed on European countries where I've never been though they are somewhat close to germany. France, Spain, Italy and Austria might not seem very spectacular but I just had never been there before and it was just fantastic! Regarding "Joes" I must honestly admit that I didn't really had a look out for them while on my travels. There was just so much "other input" and such things went a little behind the manifold experiences I had. I had such an opportunity due to a not so small inheritance of my grandfather so the first time I just had enough money to just travel and see. But I didn't want to spend the whole inheritance on that so in the second year I started working in some simple jobs. Now I'm back since about two months and slowly get back into normal life (rather hard but somehow it works ;) ). Well, it's rather lonesome when it comes to Joes and Germany, haha. I only now one other person who collects them. Some people remember them from their childhood vaguely but afaik the Joes have never been popular here back then. In fact when I was a boy I never bought one here in germany, but got all my stuff on holidays in the Netherlands where me and my parents went quite often in the 80s. So all the items I bought over the last years, I got from ebay or other international shops.

M6D on JBL! Welcome back to the 'tank. Whereabouts in Germany are you from? I was stationed at Katterbach '01-'03, outside of Ansbach. I loved it over there. Let me know if you ever want to sponser me for citizenship.

Dank. My mothers side of the family is from Dortmund and my wife is half German. I'd love to visit Germany someday. Vietnam sounds fun as long as I stay somewhere that has air conditioning. I'm glad you enjoyed your journeys. Money well spent. Take care.

and yes - Vietnam's climate def. took much time for me to endure (but it was worth ever breath!)
