Lines/Colors/3D Gi Joe Animated!! Re-imagining a World.

UPDATE!!! Roadpig Rough Sketch!! and Torch Rough Sketch!!

Hey All,

This is less a "re-imagining" (as my title implies) than it is, a simple REDUX. I just got back into Joes and wanted to do a whole slew of designs for a fictional Gi Joe animated series. Simple, iconic, cartoony, fun!! I could see this being a fun "adventures of..." type show that could help bring the kiddies back to the Gi Joe franchise!

I will be updating this thing as I finish a new design. I will be incorporating characters, vehicles and hey maybe even some background or base designs!

I'm starting off with some of MY personal favorites: THE DREADNOKS!!

First up is MONKEY WRENCH.

Here is the rough sketch final for RoadPig. Actually I'm playing with the idea of giving him a large spiked mace instead of the concrete block. We'll see.


And a rough for Torch! One of my favs from the Noks'.

I like it. Though it almost looks like the old 1990s art that already existed in the Dic version



Talking about this reminds me of how amazing resolute was.

yeah, I need to go back a watch through the series.

I hope to create something that's an homage to the original designs but using a more streamlined aesthetic similar to the B:TAS design work, but not as pushed as B:TAS.

If I recall correctly, the original tv designs were a bit more naturalistic.

As I do more designs I think I will find a sweet spot.

These are awesome!

I wish they would get rid of that Batman:TAS / Transformers:Animated style & never use it again. I've always despised it. Ever since Batman:TAS every cartoon has to look like that.
