After dealing on ebay, I got a problem I would like to share. When I am a buyer, I pay ASAP and communicate very well. However, the seller (9 times out of 10) will not leave me feedback until I leave feedback for them first. Does this make sense???? My half of the deal is done. I paid and communicated. What more is left to be done??? Yet the buyer will await my feedback first???
I did my part so give me my feedback that is properly due and have confidence in your selling and how you will be rated. If you kept up to your end of the bargain, then you too will get the feedback you deserve. Does this make sense or am I out of line here? By the way, Tomax and Xamot rock, possibly my favorites thus far!! |

I have seen a lot of ridiculous negative feedback left by buyers claiming that people took over 3 or 4 days to ship things. Or that they didnt know the condition of the item when it was clearly stated in the auction. My point is if I am going to be slammed with a comment by an ignorant buyer than I will nicely hand them a negative for doing so.
Besides, whats it matter when sellers cant give you negative feedback anymore anyway?

yep e-bay is run by ignorant hill billies plain and simple.
either that or the people who NEVER LEAVE THIER HOMES other than to stake out the local wal-mart for new hot items. I am sure u have seen the 300LB scalper with that 'oh so manly odor' he has to be first in line before he even wipes the eye boogers from his eyes. He Hops in his old beat up truck or in some cases depending on how good he is his brand new "Dodge" CHARGER/HUMMER/FORD F-150/CHEVY SILVERADO (INSERT V-8 VEHICLE HERE) HAHA then he shoves his way to the front of the line like the big bully on ice cream day waddles his pankcake syrup ladden self (pop tarts in one hand vehicle keys in the other to scope out the toy aisles... what he doesn't grab he destroys then he goes on to ebay where u bid on it... but he sells it to you you pay pal it.. and then he sends the item about 2 weeks later... after re selling it several more times in hopes of getting more after which he leaves no feedback "hay i completed my end u got ur stuff didn't u" "Like one feedback is going to make a difference" then leaves u a negative for something like........"bidder needs patience" WTF iS ThIS!? Sorry My rant to |

how did your fantasy of a scalper get in this thread? And what does it have to do with people leaving feedback on ebay?

I'll say what I said in a similar thread a week or so ago: the transaction is not complete until the buyer has received and examined their purchase. Leaving any feedback prior to this would be inaccurate. By this logic, as soon as you get shipping confirmation from the seller, you should leave them feedback. Their work is done!

Hectorxd,
My question is, if i paypal you immediately after winning the auction, what more do I have to fulfill on my end to complete the auction. I feel that I deserve excellent feedback because there was no delay on my end and you got your money right away. Yet you will await for me to leave you feedback (which I would do accordingly after I received the item). But why do you await for my feedback first??? My part is done and you got your money. Understandable that you don't want neg feedback. But if you did your part, you wouldn't get negative feedback. (by the way this is figuratively, I am not personally accusing Hectorxd of any bad dealings, i am just discussing the other side of the topic here) If I would use your logic then no feedback would ever be left since we are awaiting the others lead. |

as much as it sucks, the feedback shouldn't be left until both parties are finished dealing. this includes knowing that your customer is satisfied or not. there are as many fickle and hard to please buyers out there as there are sellers who fraudulently describe their items, or don't bother to package them well enough, and on and on... that's why i don't buy from anyone with a less than 95% positive rating. and i don't pay jacked up shipping rates.

I think botticus makes a good point. How is the transaction done if you havent received the package yet? I have been on ebay since early 2003 and I have seen a lot of undeserved negative feedback and quite frankly I am trying to protect myself from getting any negative feedback especially when I dont deserve it. I have seen people leave negative feedback within 2 weeks of the auction end saying the package never came. I have seen people say the seller didnt communicate with them but they did get their package.
Suppose I give you positive feedback. I send out the package with delivery confirmation and it arrives within a few days according to the post office. Then the buyer gets on there, leaves negative feedback for not receiving the item when he did. What recourse do I have? There are scammers on both sides of the ebay auction process.
