If you look at it, though, the collection isn't all that impressive. Sure, it's a lot of figures, but many of them are not mint and many are missing accessories. For a collection that size, there aren't many army builders and many of the ones that are there are less desirable.
Really, if you've been at this for 10 years and not sold much, it's pretty easy to put together a collection of Joes like this. Personally, that's not worth 1/3 of what he's asking and even then, it would be almost impossible to break even by selling the individual figures.

either the seller really isn't interested in selling it and just wants the attention of the auction, or really has no sense of how to sell. 1,500 figures, and they aren't all complete. I'd say the most that is worth as a lot is about $12,000, but even then I'm inclined to say only $10,000. sure, v.2 Snake Eyes may be worth $30 alone, but if you sell 5 of them in a lot you aren't going to get $150 for it because most people not only want to only spend $30 but don't need 4 others. roll that principle right across this absurd auction. |

oh no way would I ever spend that much on it. First off I'd be out of almost 30k but then my wife would divorce me.

why would you need so many duplicates of one character that aren't troop builders? That is an obscene amount of money to ask for ,but more power to him if he gets what he is asking for.

And people wonder why Americans get a bad rap as being wasteful. I'm all for collecting, but THAT is NOT collecting, that's hoarding, packrat-ing. I feel bad for the poor guy (or gal) as he PROBABLY doesn't have much else going on in his life. |

Why the hell would you need 20 Duke's or 20 Mainframe's, etc, etc. That just looks stupid. And the price!? Dude is living a fantasy. |

Did you notice he's selling a 77 Trans Am for less money than the Joes. I'm all about collecting, but man that is sick. I think he'd be better off selling them in smaller lots like a complete series. He'd make more money that way.
