Hey people! I've been on the bay for 3 years and I've established myself as a good seller and I feel like I know the ins and outs but I have an issue I'm not sure how to correct...I'll try to keep it short....here goes:
Around the beginning of May I sold an SRO Wild Bill. After the auction closed, I discovered that I had misplaced the figure so I gave a refund and apology. The buyer left negative feedback anyway and I contacted ebay about removing it and they said that it didn't qualify as feedback abuse. I'm in the process of moving and Ol' Bill has turned up. I contacted the buyer and told him I would send Bill plus 2 more figures for free if he'd remove the feedback. He said O.K. and asked me how to remove the feedback (he's new to ebay). I've never had to address the issue of removing feedback so I didn't know that mutual feedback withdrawal no longer exists. Now ebay offers feedback revision, but only within 30 days of auction closing. I've tried to email customer support about this, but their email format requires you to choose a predetermined subject line and an auction number. And when I put in the number it comes back as invalid and none of the other predetermined subject lines apply to this situation. So, I'm not sure what to do. Has anyone been through this? Know of a way around it? It seems that ebay would go for it as this helps me as a seller and the other person as a buyer. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

In other words, there's a "respond to feedback left/received" option. Have him respond to the feedback he left for you advising that the negative isn't valid. I knew wutcha meant, Gyre. |

Thanks for the info. That does make sense...but I'm not sure if that can be done since we're outside the 30 day window...it's worth a try though.

I confused myself re-reading what I had written. but I think that's your best bet. that way there's no discrepancy.

well then relist the item as a private auction for 99 cents (since he already paid for it again right?)
have him leave feedback for THAT auction stating his negative feedback for the old one is null and void and then you comment on it as you wish. all you have to do is mark it as shipped and all he has to do after that is leave positive feedback. ebay won't know there was no actual transaction.

I forgot to mention that I replied to the negative stating that I lost the item and gave refund...anyway, I just checked my feedback page to see if I could change anything and it says "auction has been removed or this item is not available".
Not sure if it would say the same thing on the buyers feedback page though. |

Also new buyers don't really get when it's appropriate to leave a negative...which is pretty much why I'm in the situation I'm in. |
