Again for all of you that don't want to pay the fees just don't list. The only way that e bay will ever consider making them less is if people stop using it or if enough people raise their voices. It's pretty simple. It looks like the seller added the fees into it anyway. If I sell on there I understand the fees and deal with it even if they suck. There is more traffic on there than any other auction site I bet. Try bid4figures.com and see if your item sells if you don't like the fees. The person that started that site did it because of e bays fees. There are other options. Tell the seller to join the tank and give it a try if you feel so sorry that they had to fix it. They could easily sell most of the figures at the price they are asking on here. What was it? $5 per figure almost? Kids whine, grown ups do something about it. Give problem solving a chance.

I certainly am not whining. If anything, reporting would be a form of whining, no? Especially about something that doesn't affect you? And for the record, I don't list on ebay.

Reporting them may stop e bay from raising their fees more in the near future or until they have stiff competition. E bay won't drop rates because someone is trying to "get one over" on them. Actually, I would bet if everyone sold items for that price the fees would go up more since they are not getting as much of a cut. If you don't want to do it by simple rules then don't do it at all. Individuals that do the excessive shipping will only hurt people that sell on there more frequently so in the long run it most likely does affect others. That's good that you don't list on them either. Each individual that makes that choice can make a statement about their fees without saying anything. |

Major Blood, i preface this by stating you are the man... and in starting this thread you had the right intention, to poke fun at the guy...but i respectfully disagree if you think that here on the tank we are going to get them not to raise fees...discussing the auction which is all you have done is fun good for some laughs on the tank.. but taking the time to report the guy is crazy everyone wants to make a difference this is the real world the same people that want to blow others in are the same people that would do the same if they could get away with it who cares where the money is allocated whether its to the auction or the shipping the buyer is paying the same amount..hey the guy might actually take better care in packaging and shipping if you have helped him a little (or maybe not!) |

Next time just put the whole quote in there. You forgot the part about competition. The key word in the part you put in there was "may". Not much "may" stop them from doing anything in the future but if they start making less per auction not much "will" stop them from it. They suck and we all know it but they get the traffic. Simple to deal with if you want top dollar for your item.
I'm off to work, I'll be back to argue later. ;) And stormshadow, he would not give discounts to people that were willing to pick up the items. A few heads asked. He openly admitted to wanting to dodge fees. I'll get the title of the thread changed when I come home to "the e bay fee discussion". Last edited by MAJOR BLOOD; 06-03-2009 at 02:27 PM.. |

If you sell on ebay and don't like what they charge to sell, I could see why you'd want to report this stuff.

I hope everybody who tattled are proud of themselves for reporting a guy who's only crime was trying to avoid the insane and often unjustifyable fees fleabay charges. The total price was actually a good deal, so it's not like he was trying to rip off anybody but ebay itself.
Way to go guys, glad to know the morality police are out there watching my every move. |
