Hey all,
I have a buyer that claims he did not receive 2 of the 12 figures I shipped him. Each of my sets are counted, opened and verified several times before making complete sets. They all go into separate containers and each are weighed. Before packaging I check and verify 3x and account before they even go in the box and before it is taped up. I also weigh the item to make sure each set is consistent. That weight discrepancy would have presented itself because each box weighs the same with 12 figures. At various stages of the selling process; sorting, creating sets, packaging etc., each set is counted at least 10 x at various stages. I'm OCD like that. I completed a thorough accounting of my remaining inventory and the sets are complete and I do not have the said missing figures that happen to be army builders. I called eBay customer support and they took a record of my concern but no case has been opened yet. What can I do as a seller to protect myself? It seems some rogue buyers can still get away with these possible scams. Buyer has 100% feedback (200+), member since 2011. He does have one neutral. Care to share any experiences about your eBay cases? Did eBay ever rule in your favor as a seller? Thanks again everyone.

Sorry dude there is not much you can do. You can contact ebay but chances are they are gonna side with the buyer. Its shitty I know I was out right robbed a few years back when I sold a defiant. The buyer claimed it came in broken I had insurance on it told him to contact usps. Didnt her back for almost a month then It shows up on my door missing 90% of all the easliy lost pieces I contacted buyer he claims that he had to sell these parts to "recoupe his losses" ebay refunded him 100% of price and shipping. I contacted them about the missing items even showed them the ebay message that he admitted to selling the items they told me that I could have hacked his account and sent that mesg to myself. Bull shit! To this day I do not sell big ticket items on ebay.

So there is basically NO seller protection what so ever on ebay. Even with proof in hand of theft. Its funny ebay even gave you an answer like that of " you could hacked his account and sent that email to yourself " When they could have just said " Not our problem. He stole and sold your parts, go sue him " One would also think ebay would have tried to re-coop there insurance loss they payed out to him. I dunno ? Does that make sense to anybody ?

I haven't had any experiences like that as a seller but have had enough fraudulent experiences as a buyer that I understand the need for the all of the buyer protection. It's terrible though that there are scammers on both sides.
If Ebay is going to outright accuse someone of hacking the opposing buyers account then it sounds hopeless unless you scam him back. Maybe send him an empty envelope with a tracking number and tell Ebay that you sent "replacements" for the "missing" items. Show them the tracking number to prove the "replacements" arrived safely. Let this guy accuse you for not sending him the figures 2x and his story will sound false.
