Wait...I've seen this move before. They cancelled the last bit of Spy Troops (Crimson Sabotage set with Duke, Snake-Eyes, etc...) to get VvV out quicker then later release something similar under the VvV banner.
Also sorta like what they did with the whole "robot rebellion" thing, but that one was supposedly fuelled by lack of money or store support.
So my guess here is that perhaps they cancelled the 3rd wave of "classic" Combat Heroes for "movie" Combat Heroes?

It's as if they are slowly lowering our standards to the point where we will buy any repainted garbage they throw at us. All the retro versions of CC are awesome. The chrome face, hood, battle armor. What the hell is this?
Hollywood isn't about giving the fans the movies they want, it's about giving the fans what the companies want. And the companies want to spend less on molds, less on colors, less on imagination. This stuff is serious garbage.
