You see as soon as some desperate collector or sucker plucks down his hard earned doe for a Wraith variant at one of the above prices I just mentioned, every other seller on e-bay will raise his price to the price at whatever the first e-bay seller got for his and they won't back down from it either.
And as soon as the wraith variant is impossible to find expect the prices to double, triple and quadruple.
The GI Joe 25th anniversary line is defiently a scalpers dream.
I actually think that some idiot out there will actually buy a Wraith variant for $1000.00.
If someone out there actually does buy a wraith variant for $1000.00, then I will defeintly put my Wraith variant up on e-bay too and sell mines at that price.

I really think it will be around a wave 1 Flint price range($25.00-$35.00),but then again people will pay more than 40 bucks for a badly repacked old B.A.T "variant"..

I especially don't get the "collectability" of stuff like Yellow Stalker. But then I always tear open my joes and throw them on a shelf.
If I find a Clear Wraith, I'll probably sell it (why not, if it'll bring in crazy money? ) but I don't see a point to it.
Besides, aren't the Wraith variants supposed to be more common than the others (like 1 in 3 or something like that? ).

I see what you did there.

I admit to not being a childhood reader of the comics and then refining my understanding as I grew up and bought the back issues. My first G.I. Joe comic was the last issuw with Hawk, Snake-Eyes, stalker and Duke folding the flag. I read Batman comics and novels as a kid. Then, as I got older, I read X-Men. But I never read the Joe comics as a kid. I relied on the cartoon to explain it to me. I can't see paying retail for this figure, varients, et al, much less $1000 for it. If I was still buying at retail, I'd pass on this figure and all it's variants..just like the Bazooka Trooper or the Cobra Flint or the Cobra Para-Trooper. I still need a Major Bludd and a Tripwire; these superfluous characters don't mean anything to me. I pre-ordered a croc master figure, but I'm also waiting on a theme-pack Major Bludd since it looks far superior to the single carded version. At this point in the responses, I guess I wish I was in this to make money, if I could, but I'm not.
That is no commentary on someone that would cash in on a 8 dollar figure being able to bring in a grand, but I don't see it happening.

Stage one excitement:
New wave hits stores scalpers see opportunity grab all the figures put them on ebay.Originally going anywhere from 50-100 to any and all willing to pay the exorbitant price. Some will and some won't
Stage two :
As the figure becomes ore available and more common the price will drop to 30-50.More and more will begin to buy at this price ignoring the fact that it doesn't even cost near to 10.
Stage three :
People getting ready for the next wave will start to buy less and less of the variant.People unable to get him will now buy him at this price due to hunting costs and such, but by then it will have dropped to 20-35.
Stage four:
Anyone coming late to the party will want one but even then it will be hard to find the price will increase back to it's ridicullous old amounts 80-100.
This is when the series is reaching it's end though not half way through.

If by some strange chance I come across the variant at retail I'll snag it for trade bait. Otherwise, pass.

I thought Wraith was hired by Destro.... or his son when he assumed control of the M.A.R.S. empire, but I could be mistaken. It's been so long since I read any of that. The comics were very interesting, as it touched on a lot of back story that never made it to the cartoon.

You could get piper, yellow stalker, gold ssdc destro, and black timber for that!!!!! Everyone is going nuts for this guy, the same thing happened with black head destro. I found two of them, kept one and traded one. I will look for him, but I will not pay THAT for him.
