[GI Guppy the third]

This is my compound bow WIP. This is the first one I've tried and I'm already kicking myself for how it's done. Since I borrowed some from the Street Fighter movie Guile figure's bow, it's made a little incorrectly. So now I'm just trying to find parts before I take another whack at it.






Update 4-23
trying to put some cams on Version 1. Now for Version 2 I need to minimize the number of pieces. i had the strings real tight and it was working similarly to a real bow but the handle kept coming apart. If the handle and most of the support was one piece, this probably wouldn't happen.

Well the intent was all experiment. So I'm not really kicking myself, I just fubbed where the string is suppose to attach. I think next one will use fishing line which will make it easier.

That's a really good start. You need to add some pulleys to give it some extra detail. Great links too.

Agreed. Adding the cams(pulleys)to the bow ends would really take it up a few notches.

Oh...and some actual arrows and quiver would blow it out of the water!

The quiver is something I was going to work with in it's second incarnation. I was a huge fan of SS ver 2s compound back in the day and was going to emulate that eventually. Plus I like simple scabbards on the back and didn't care for the quiver that came with all the 25th Ninjas. I was concentrating on just getting the bow balanced and strung first before tackling that.

Not having the cams is what I realized after I strung it and glued it. That was what I was kicking myself for. In the second incarnation it will have the cams, quiver, and I'm probably going to go get some fishing supplies to string it.

Updated Nightcreepers

I redid the head of the Night Creeper using a SE head with vinyl tape. The bandana is vinyl tape with craft wire glued inside to allow it to be posed.

I repainted them by mixing a more "earthy" purple and maroon. They appear to be more brownish and gray and have a slight irredescent quality depending on the light.

That bow is awesome Guppy, I'll have to post my 21.5 comic pack modded version once I get painted. Night Creeper with the Snake-Eyes head is a great idea. The paint job is tops, perfect color.
