Glow in the Dark Night Viper Spectres

These were my entries to the custom contest, they are posted there now, but I also wanted to post here for critiques.




The Spectres have highly advanced gear. Their optics allow them to see in darkness far better then any other known night vision. The Spectres color patches on their gear, are specially designed to glow a bright color when viewed by other Spectres night vision goggles, thus giving them an advantage in seeing where their fellows are.

(left to right, Death-Night, Demon-Night, Terror-Night)

They also love to use fear tactics, they can switch on their goggles and optics to emit light and in the darkness look like demonic eyes, they like to turn them off and on thus giving them the apperance of "Spectres".
(from my teaser in the customs section I had originally photoshopped in the glowing eyes, but with glow in the dark paints I made it a reality)

Some members even adapt their gear to be able to emit light, making their visage a ghostly and terrifying view in the darkness.

Can you imagine the fear of this Spectre coming towards you in the dark? (This is Dread-Night)

then suddenly dissapear as he turns off his light emiters only to be right infront of you in the next moment?


This Spectre in the light.(he doesnt look as good in the light compared to the regular paitned ones, b/c the GID green paint is really light color and a bit gritty/rubbery)

Very cool Idea (I'm a sucker for Glow in the Dark toys )

If you don't like the gritty rubber feel of GID paint, try some GID Nail Polish. In fact, you might be able to paint the parts the color you want, then add the nail polish and it would only look like a slight shade of light green over the color (Would probably be almost invisible if the base color is already green)

Heeey, that's a pretty cool idea!

Especially those glowing green goggles, really feels eerie if you imagine those closing in on you at night.

That is so cool! That effect is killer. How about a couple squads coming at you like that? Glow in the dark paint could help dioists too.

thanks for the comments guys. I was actually going to make 3 of the full glow in the dark figures (ontop of the other 3 that only have the eyes and scopes GID). Ill post them when I figure out some good recipes to use.
