About a Month ago Scrapiron-Scavanger posted a pretty awesome update to the Parasite
The Parasite is a super cool Cobra APC...one of the better Later issue Vehicles period... It's one downside, is the "Tea-cup" that the driver sits in. After Scrapiron-Scavanger made his post I was inspired to play around with my Parasite. I thought about maybe making some armor for the "Tea-cup" but that Idea died there. Last Week I was digging through a Bin of Vehicle shells, and came across the body of a stripped Parasite...one I didn't remember having....That got me working on what You're seeing here. I've had a junker of a Hiss II shell for a little while...I've been holding on to it pretty much for this exact reason...It was cracked, yellowed, brittle, and of no use for anything but customizing. So, a lot of cutting, Gluing, Dremeling, and some Tech Detail later...here I am. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...P/IMG_8227.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...P/IMG_8228.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...P/IMG_8229.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...P/IMG_8230.jpg I'm hesitant to strip parts off of Vehicles in my collection to use for a Custom... I did it just to take Pictures, But I'm still on the lookout for a Canopy, Light Bar, and Cheek Guns from the HIss II, And I need the Compartment Hatch from the Parasite. I painted some of the parts, because when I started, I wasn't sure if I'd be able to Take it apart later for painting. I've managed to build up the Tech Detail w/ some structural Styrene elements so I will be able to have access to the troop seats for painting. There is one gap that still shows up and annoys me...If I can't come up with a better solution I'll just run some hose or something along it to hide the gap. Overall I'm pretty happy with the progress so far...I like the look from almost every angle. It's odd that from certain angles I don't like it...but I'm not sure I'll be able to fix it. I like this pic of it ready to load/off load troops. I don't like it here...I think it's that I see too much of the "neck" I don't think Black will be the final Color...I'm sure it'd look great with the Red Hiss II elements...I just don't like how difficult it is to photograph. I'll probably go with a dark grey instead....and while I can't find a link...I've seen the Parasite painted grey with it's purple remaining...I may try that if I find a purple that's close and will stick to the Red Hiss II elements. I kinda want to paint the wheels too...I might make them a light grey. As always, you're thoughts and input are appreciated...PM me if you've got the parts I need to finish. |

Great idea. I'm still struggling with how to redesign my Parasite. It is an awesome vehicle save for the exposed 'teacup' drivers seat.
From what I've seen, it looks like cutting it off seems like the best route. |

Looks cool, it reminds me of something that would have appeared in the early comics.

let's officially change the parasite's driver's seat from the 'teacup' to the 'teabag'.
it's funnier. we should all agree. agreed?
