After watching Zoomie's big ass carrier coming together, Im not much into details and my time is limited, but I do like me some wood. Ive been trying to make realistic looking carriers--I do have some amount of room but Ive decided to scale it back. After looking over Zoomie's custom thread, I just wanted to give a big shout out and big thanks to Zoomie and all those that have chimed in on his thread. I know I should probably call this carrier the USS FLAGG, but part of me wants a different name but still in the ARAH line of thought. Im making headway and detailing certain sections will definately be inspired by what I have witnessed on Zoomies thread. I llike carriers and they should be big, this isnt for everybody and that's fine, I just thought, I have the room, why the hell not.
First I mapped everything out, 1 inch equals 1 foot. My carrier will be less detailed than Zoomies but again it will be a work in progress for at least the next few months. I will be placing the first elevator today after I get my extra sheet of plywood. The plan is to use the closet organizing shelving. She will fit at least 7 tomcats on her flight deck as well as at least 7 more below decks, 2 helicopters and one X-19 Phantom. Hope you enjoy the pics. Any suggestions for names would be welcome. |

Wow. This will be awesome if you can pull it off.
What are the dimension of your flight deck? edit - And how are you doing your elevators? I know Zoomie has been tinkering around with problem for awhile too. Good luck! Last edited by Ako Roshi; 11-06-2009 at 12:41 PM.. |

Troynos, not only do you need a basement, you need to be a bachelor or have a wife who is a member of Hiss Tank. Because Regular Wife + Basement does not equal Awesome Flagg.
