I was struck by inspiration last night and quickly pounded out a design... an original vehicle for once! This is a lot less developed or set in stone as the others so I'm not updating the OP, just giving a sneak peek for y'all.
Silverfish Concept The Silverfish is an armored personnel carrier and mobile command center, with a "variable geometry chassis" to let the long and wide vehicle navigate tighter spaces than an APC could usually get into. I didn't want to break the fourth wall and decided to have an in-universe reason for the entire roof lifting away, which was to deploy a missile system. Once arriving, the roof slides up and back to reveal a missile pod. The sides fold down to form ramps. The interior will feature bench seating, weapons racks, and computer/communications consoles. Some ortho stuff: The name comes not only from its low & flat profile, but also its ability to bend around sharp corners. A heft joint about a third of the way through gives the front about 20 degrees of lateral movement. So it's obviously just basic shell right now, but I'd love to hear any thoughts or comments on this thing.

Oh hell yeah! This thing would be massive for 6" figures. Any plans on doing 1/18 scale?

Looks great, Those "people" you've got in your pictures look like they'd make fun figures, too; kind of like some sci-fi soldiers or police.

Converting to a smaller scale is pretty easy (easier than the inverse, where detail doesn't necessarily hold up) but wall thicknesses have to be adjusted to make sure nothing gets too thin. But with this thing, that's really not a problem. And given the shape, I wouldn't be surprised if this would take to filament printing better than the other stuff I'm working on. And sci-fi police... you don't say... :P I was digging through my old files to see if I had a suitable blank figure to insert into shots and found that I'd started on a Stallone Dredd action figure years ago and had just... forgotten. So there ya go.

This APC would be awesome, especially scaled down for 1/18! Would make a nice upgrade for the Joes. I'm guessing the inspiration for this was disappointment with the Aliens APC? I can see that vehicle in the design.
And that Dredd design looks pretty neat; without the paint, sbartek's right, he looks like the baddies from Incredibles lol. |

Yup, yup, exactly the inspiration! As much as I liked the idea of putting some mission scale S6 figures in the Lanard APC, I wanted something that wasn't so compromised. But also something that was distinctly G.I. Joe and could stand on its own as something cool.
Every measurement is up for change, but as of right now its closed dimensions are: 24" length, 7" height, 11.25" width. Interior height is 5.6" Converted for 1/18: 16" length, 4.67" height, 7.5" width. Interior height of 3.74" Scaled for ARAH and Classified, the interior space is just a hair too short for standing figures. It was tall enough for them to stand at first but getting that extra height made it look goofy AF, and since it's not like it would be driving all opened up I decided to prioritize looks and just make the roof open up when it was parked.

Noice! Now with your knowledge of articulated toy hingy-things, cook me up a replacement for the hitch missing from that beater ROCC I tried to pawn off on you guys. Danke.

It IS like an Updated version of the Old 12 Inch Palitoy Action Man Multi Terrain vehicle (Believe Adventure Team had it too in the US). Love the 1995 DREDD Uniform used too |
