I tinkered around with the VAMP build a bit more today. Here is the turret WIP:

Thanks! Yeah, I think the grey filament really works on them. It looks like the manufacturer has discontinued that color though. Kinda bummed about that. I have a lot of stuff I'd like to print in this color so it's a race against the clock now.

For ease of printing so far I'm loving Inland right now. It's one of the cheaper filaments and it behaves very well for me so far. There is a Microcenter in the area so I can stroll in and pick my color in person (which is nice) and it's $14.99 for basic PLA. I'd love to see more color options from them.

Honestly, I kinda disliked it. The filament was too brittle on the spool and when printing it was stringy as hell and required a lot of cleanup on the models whereas all the other filaments I've tried have been much tamer. To be fair, the Solutech filament prints just fine other than that and I never did tweak anything besides nozzle temperature to try to mitigate the stringing.

Green is a notoriously difficult color to print, something about the coloring agent used makes the filament less cooperative. Brands that I use regularly:
3D Solutech: Not great but cheap Inland: OK Amazonbasics/Overture: Really good but need to run 5C hotter than normal Stronghero: Pretty good stuff especially their silk gold! Paramount 3D: Fantastic customer service and color choices nobody else has (great military colors) IC3D/Repkord: Great experience, a little pricier than Inland and Solutech Printed Solid: Their Jessie PLA is a great price and really good product they make in house.
