Thanks, gentlemen. I have a version prepped that has 38.5% thicker prongs (the version on the left):
That should add some longevity without adding too much rigidity to allow them to function. If anyone here needs a specific selection and quantity of any of these Flagg parts, let me know and I can make a custom "product" for you with exactly what you need.

I've had a request for an F-14 tailhook (or arresting hook, if you prefer) add-on for the Skystriker. So here it is so far, still in a very rough form:
The actual hook tip is a really strange geometry and it's taking me a bit to get my head around it with the reference photos I have. But I am closing in! The real thing looks like this: Anyway, I am going to design the hook and its anchor column (whatever it's called) as a working, hinged piece that can be either glued, screwed, or sticky-tacked onto the existing nub on the undersde of the modern-era Skystriker:

The geometry haunts me...but I'm getting closer:

If you provided a clip to glue on the Striker to keep it held tightly against the body, I'd rock a few!

Closer...
I went ahead and put the aviation bolt and the castle nut on as well so I could feel like I accomplished something. They need some scale work though. I may do that, but based on the outcome of the articulated robotic manipulator arm I made, the joints will probably be easily tight enough to support the tailhook arm with no issue. Once I run a test print we'll know for sure.

I added the rubber bumper, the release lever's catch rod, and the beginnings of the hinge area:
I'm going to need a Skystriker fuselage to get the overall length of the tailhook correct to fit from the beaver tail to the tailhook hinge area. There won't be much more progress on this until I can track down a fuselage on the cheap.

Zap
How does the articulated robotic manipulator arm scale with the treads from the mini HISS that came with Ret. Firefly ? Could it be used for a bomb disposal robot?

As promised...
The joints are tight enough to support an action figure... And here are the approximate measurements:
