This is what I picked out from a photo online. Generic and simple. How would the hinges work?

Off the top of my head, I would go with either a pin at the top and at the bottom sticking through the frame (easy, but not super accurate) OR I could try to make actual outside-the-door hinges. Material thickness requirements would dictate whether or not the outside-the-door hinges would be feasible. I'll whip something up and see what the thickness looks like when it's done.

Based on the 1" thick Styrofoam board you mentioned using for walls in your PM, I whipped up a little something today using a scaled-down 80"x36"x2" door in a frame that is 1" (actual) in depth:
The strip to stop the door from swinging through to the other side of the frame is about two thirds of the way back in the overall frame depth. I have hinge pin holes on each side of that strip and on both sides of the frame. This means the door can be either left-handed or right-handed, can open inward or outward, and on the main display side it can have one of two possible depths within the frame (either about 0.474" or about 0.285" recessed from the front face of the frame). I am going to make the bottom plate of the frame removable so the door can be installed in the frame without breaking the hinge pins. I have not yet decided if I will just break the whole frame down into individual sides to keep printing prices lower. It depends how insane the pricing algorithm is when I upload it as one piece. It makes it cheaper to print something if it takes up less space, but it also makes room for imperfections in the fit if end-users are assembling the top and sides of the frame.

That looks great. I hope I am not the only one that wants/needs doors! I always find them difficult to scratch build.

I'm taking another pause in the normal development to show the test prints of the USS Flagg replacement parts that just arrived today:
Purge Valve: Mast Cap: Superstructure Y-Pins: Radar Antenna Tip: Deck Clip (I probably need to do some smoothing on this one since it almost looks oversized with the sharp corners rather than the more-gradual curves on the original):

I will let you know how they fit! They look amazing, by the way.

Very clean-looking. What material(s) did you use for the prints? EDIT: Saw in another thread it was nylon.

You know what's funny? I literally JUST NOW realized I only put 6 spokes on the purge valve instead of 8. Sheesh! I knew something looked off about it. I guess I better take a longer look at the rest of my parts.

OK, next up, the ammo can test prints. The handle is far too dainty on this version:
And a lot of the detail didn't make it through in this material. It's not horrible, but I was hoping for better: The handle-up version is still stackable with the handle-down version (this image only demonstrates the 30mm can, but the .50 is the same): The articulated ammo can turned out like total crap though (note the lack of the hasp that should be attached to the lid: And the hinge printed out with too much gap, so the lid doesn't really attach at all. Honestly, I didn't design it with that much slop, and all of my thicknesses were within Shapeways' minimums according to their automated checks. However, I printed this with the "print it anyway" option which meant that they should print it even if they didn't feel it passes all manual checks that they make. Not that it wouldn't have passed them anyway, I just had a limited-time 15%-off coupon code I wanted to use and if they happened to decide to reject the print because some small detail on one ammo can looked a little too small to print cleanly, then I would have lost the option to use the coupon code entirely on this rather expensive print. When you do that "print it anyway" option, you can't return the print for errors, poor print quality, or missing parts because you waive that option by telling them to print it no matter what. Anything that goes wrong with the print is considered to be your fault from then on. I think it's possible that leads them to be less careful in cleaning the model and ensuring good print quality. There were two of these articulated ammo cans in the print and both had the hasp broken off and not in the package. There was also another part I printed 4 of (which I will share shortly) and only two made it out intact while the other two were completely missing. I don't normally have missing parts and these items ALL passed minimums for wall thickness. But enough conspiracy theories and sour grapes, on with the show...

I tried to print 4 sets of these rifle sling clip/slide pairs, but...as mentioned above...I only got two in the mail since the other two were apparently destroyed during the cleaning of the model. Fortunately, two sets is enough for one complete rifle sling. I haven't banged out a sling strap to thread through these yet, but for now you can at least see the sling hardware next to a figure (Agent Helix's feet) for scale reference:
These are going to be pretty fragile, so I may beef up the thickness.
