I recently bouht a 3D printer, and this is the first thing that I modelled myself that I have printed. I thought I could knock it out in a few hours but I kept on adding more and more detail, and it took far longer to model than I imagined. I like how this has turned out so far, I still have a few adjustments to make, and I will print multiple final models, hopefully one in black, one in dark grey, and one in olive drab. I kept the wheels and tyres as separate parts so I can print all tyres in black and have the wheel hubs match the tray body. I also modelled and printed a shovel and a sledgehammer (same as Tollbooth's), and I included some clips on the front for storage, just to add more play value. The tailgate also works.
This test model was printed at 0.2mm layer thickness, and took around 12 hours to print. When I print the final versions, I will print in 0.1mm layer thickness so it is even more accurate and detailed. I need to order some new filament colours! |

Cleaning that up must have been an ordeal, but it certainly turned out great!

How long does it take to print one? How much does the print material cost?

This is a freakin' work of art! The lights above/behind the wheel covers and the clips for the shovel and sledge hammer are awesome details!!
You really do need to sell these, and then move onto bigger vehicles -- the green coloring makes me think of the Dreadnok Ground Assault Stinger and RAM Cycle! (I know those are big leaps forward from where you are now, but good to have a target. :-) ) Its a dream of mine to get one of these and start printing custom figures. Maybe one day...... :-) Awesome job!!!
