Wow...I didn't see it being made out of metal...that is going to be epic.
Hey I thought of something when I was looking at this and thought if you put large magnets on the bottom and have electro magnets underneath...you could in essence make this thing float right? I know its made out of Aluminum, so it wouldn't float without magnets on it and an opposing one on the bottom. Just an idea I thought might be cool.....have no idea what that would cost or how to make it though.

Fantastic workmanship with the metal.
Made 1/1 armour out of metal just with traditional hammering and shaping, cutting and strapping up. This However is Just amazing.

I really like your design. Alot of thought went in it. The only thing that is out of place is the skystriker. It's too old looking and too big to be realisticly useful. Now if you cram the deck and hangar with more advanced looking stuff like ghosthawks and skysweeper jets it will look amazingly futuristic.

Firefox: heh heh. You are right. The Skystriker does look out of place. I realized that somewhere along the development, but I was too stubborn because I just Love the 'striker. She' s my first love. I was thinking about converting it into the Advanced Tomcat version. Or even a stealth version of the tomcat, since I recently saw an article about reviving the Tomcat into a stealth version. Ah... Animated Plastic: This is made from sheet metal, 0.6mm and 0.4mm sheets, riveted or spot welded together. So, theoretically, a strong enough magnet can make it float. ;). In essence, this is how I envisioned Damocles to fly: by manipulating the magnetic field around it...
I just primed the interior so it won't corrode. I just bought a very sturdy stand from the junkshop to mount this baby... |

Voice of reason: the hangar bay is almost just as big as the flight deck, with a 10" ceiling. It is almost 8 ft long and 4 ft wide, so you could imagine what can get in.

A quick update: I added struts and girders underneath the elevator deck. This is to make it sturdier in structure and appearance. I have also airbrushed gray primer on the under surface.

More updates. You can see I've mounted it on a sturdy rolling pedestal. Despite a missing wheel it rolls quite smoothly. It is bottom heavy; no fear of toppling there. In the front I placed an alternate bridge. This is a more protected one, and it looks like a bunker. The roof opens for access. It has stairs leading down to the hangar deck.
