Looking good. I have not done much with Snow cats myself but I have an RC 4x4 WIP that I did something similar with the canopy on. I prefer this canopy over the original slanted.

Cool project. The Snow Cat is my favourite vehicle to customize. I'm actually building another one right now with four treads. For your treads like Dremel said they won't glue too well I use small screws. If you just scuff up the plastic and use either your bondiine or crazy glue then after it's dry drill some small holes and add a few screws. I buy junk toys and electronics just for the tiny screws, it's cheeper.

Thanks Blood! All your Snow Cats are inspirational, do you have a cool dio/storage area for them? I'll definitely use some type of screw/rivet for the tracks. Speaking of rivets...
I spent a few hours tonight and stayed up late to work on the canopy. I added some plate and a bunch of rivets as instructed in Freakingtiger's how to thread. They don't line up perfectly, and I need to add a few more up by the windshield, then shave them down. I was starting to get tired and was getting sloppy so I'm done for the night. |

I like your new window design, is it just going to have a solid flat roof? You should check out JNCS on Facebook I post WIPS on there as well. I'm sure everyone would love to see this.

Yes, the roof will be flat, I may put a fake hatch, because cutting into the canopy is a pain. I don't have a facebook, someday maybe, I've been told to get one by multiple friends and co-workers a lot recently. I'm still resisting haha.

Found my windshield! I wanted amber/gold, but this green lens is weathered from a whole season of MX, which might look cool. It takes awhile to ship items up here, and I'm impatient, so I'll make do. I'll make the windshield removeable, and order the amber lens for the future. I might like the way it comes out.

Windshield installed, it looks a little more purple than green. Hopefully when I paint it the green will show up more. I did make it removeable. I can see it's crookedness a lot more now, oh well, hopefully I'll get better.

Looks like a real windshield. looking good. Very excited to have another cut and paste vehicle customizer. I hope this is only the first of many.
Got me motivated to start a new Snow Cat custom myself. Are you ordering the styrene from the Chinese dealers on Ebay or paying the outrageous name brand prices? I get all of my tubes and rods in large lots off of Ebay from chinese dealers. I do not buy much as far as flat sheets. I buy bulk lots if I see them on Ebay. I also buy the large "authorized parking only" signs that the hardware stores often carry. They are approximately .050 and work well for most vehicle construction. The smaller signs are only probably .020 and tend to be too thin for most aplications. I also pick up any scrap styrene that I can find along with other hard plastics. A lot of trash appliances (printers, vacuums, pretty much anything plastic) have good curves and details to add into projects. Just curious. How many hours of daylight are you getting up there right now. My parents lived in Anchorage when I was a baby but we moved back to the states by the time I was 3 so no real memories of it.
